Hate to add to the 1,475 other computer help threads, but I haven't been able to figure out why my sound isn't working. It hasn't worked for 3-4 weeks now. A couple days ago I realized I could hear sound when I plugged in my headphones, and that's what I've been using the past couple days. It's just pretty inconvenient.

Not sure if it matters, but I don't have any disconnected speakers, they're only on the front of my monitor.

All the cords seem to be plugged in fine to the back of my monitor, any suggestions as to why the sound just suddenly shut off?

I suggest using those matches and setting your computer on fire...

does your monitor come out to one 1/8" stereo phone plug or split to left and right? Are you absolutely positive that is plugged into the speaker output and not the microphone input?

Is the soundcard on your motherboard or do you have a seperate entity like the soundblaster?

    Cheers,
    Brock

why do you have those matches on your desk?

you have a broke ass computer.

my speakers do the same damn thing.

i have to twist it around a little bit.

so to test it out, i play some HSM songs or MC songs and twist the cord in the back til i hear it.

Ugh, I just found a cord twisted up behind the back part of my desk (all the wires are hidden). Plugged it in, now it works again.

    :(
