My computer can not boot into Windows. Everytime when I try to restart my computer, it always said : "NT...file is missing", I think one of the system file that require for the windows to boot is missing, I don't want to reformat my computer, or restore it back to the orginal factory setting, because I have some very important file inside my drive.
    What can I do?

BTW, I'm using Windows XP HOME edition, and I didn't do a backup of my computer files.

you have your boot cd? I think you can boot from it and run repair tools. OR you can try "Last Known Good Configuration" if you have that option while booting

I know this will seem stupid.....but did you check to make sure that there isnt a floppy disk in the drive?

Whenever XP tries to boot and cant find the ntloader file, that is the message you will see...if you accidently leave a floppy disk in, XP will attempt to boot from it and fail.

Double check you r BIOS settings to ensure it is trying to boot from hd0 first, sometimes systems will experience brainfarts and lose their settings...

if both of those check out...you will need to go thru the reccovery process and copy the ntloader file(ntldr) to your root directory.

oh yea......BACKUP regularly people....geez...computers screwup all the time...if you cant be bothered to backup...then you will get screwed....you can bank on that.
