Guys and Gals, any recommendations for something central. My grandmother needs to move out of her house and I would like to keep it under 4k a month out the door. Thanks in advance...
I took care of my grandmother for 3 years after my grandfather died. I know you can actually hire a relative to take care of her for 20 hours a month and the state pays like $400. I dont know your situation but there is no better care than family. Just a thought i wanted to pass on to you.
3/4 of my Grandparents stayed here at some point. http://www.har.com/seniorliving/Hearthstone-at-Cy-Fair-id14.html Staff is great and they never really complained about the food. And they have some weekly activities as well. (note I have no idea what the rent was) There's also a couple other places around there though I remember my parents chose this one b/c of the price...
There is no set price for AL facilities. You pay a base price plus the level of assistance needed. One should expect to pay near the base price at the start and to pay more as time goes by and more assistance is needed. When skilled nursing is required, one will then transition to a nursing home. The AL places I looked at charged about $3K/month as the base price and about $4K/month maxed out assistance.
