Finally I have moved lazy ass and become a member (I now realize why its difficult for Cato to rebound, if I cannot take 60 seconds to become a member). I have been following a few rockets sites for last 3-4 years, but this summer provided me opportunity, both time and inclination, to become a e-Rockie (someone who follows Rockets exclusively over the net). SO hello folks..and DONT trash this post because its from a newbie..... I became a Basketball fan becasue of Hakeem. I knew Rockets because of Hakeem. It wasn't untill Hakeem left that I realized that like many of you I now am truly a Rocket fan.......and the Dream is no longer the central part of this romantism. (MY only other connection with Houston, was a place of residence for my wifefor several years in her childhood!!!) Enufff about me.....(though there's more..like the years I worked as a sports journalist!!etc...) Now MY DREAMS for this year..... That Rockets grow......in W column, not just Exeperience column That Franchise shoots more, Coutin(h)o less... That Cato leads the rebouding, not some freakin guard That Rice blends, not brewing malcontent That Mo deliver on his improvement promise, unlike a feaking Cato That Rudy can actually exploit young legs and new rules That we are talking of this year still in May, not looking at a long offseason That............I have 3000 posts by next......LOL..well maybe 300...by next summer.

hey timm Welcome to the board, I think there is a chance that your dreams could become reality. In fact, these might be a lot of the dreams rocket fans have these days (including a few more). Well, don't worry too much about people trying to trash your post ,i think most of the people are reasonable here. I don't think anyone is out to get newbies, but there will be those newbies (and i've witnessed some old-bees) who start a thread or write a post that really boggles the mind. The one rule of thumb might be to try talking about the rockets and rockets related matter. Anyway, once again ,welcome to the bandwagon of the young guns 2001 season.

Welcome to the board. You passed the first test: you didn't trash the Rockets in your first thread. You'd be surprised how often that happens, and there is no quicker way to be labeled a troll and get thrown off or put on everyone's ignore list. My dreams for next season: - We lead the league in scoring, while playing a modicum of passable team defense; this will get us those extra wins you dream about (I fully expect this one to actually come true) - There are no chemistry problems (Moochie stays, Rice accepts his position as 2nd-4th option, etc) - Cato shows up and does more than watch the ball roll out of bounds past him off of Steve's foot...
Wouldn't that be someone who follows the Rockies exclusively over the net? Just kidding with you. Nice to have another Rockets fan around. I have 2 "dreams" for this season. 1. The Rockets make the playoffs. 2. Cato earns his contract by playing at least 70 games and averaging at least 14 and 8.
Given our new offense, I'd be happy with Cato getting 8/7 plus a block. Grif will pick up the slack (I expect him to get some 5 minutes, as experimentation if nothing else). That said, he'd damn well better average 12/10/2 blocks per game. Or else he's not worth what Les paid for him
