Does anyone know any Pros/Cons of the cell company Helio? I'm thinking of switching to one of their new family plans. Verizon is just to crazy with the prices.

I have Helio. I've been with them since June. I was looking for a new cell phone, and I loved the Ocean. I gave it a shot, and it was so great that it stuck.

The thing about Helio is that it's a bit more expensive than other companies, but you don't have to concern yourself with any of the silly crap that the traditional companies try to push on you. No concerns if you're using too much bandwidth, or sending too many text messages. They won't charge you for GPS or if you want picture mail. You just pay a flat fee and that's that. Use it as much or as little as you want.

In addition, they have great customer service (from my experiences, anyways). Customer Service is important to me, and I'm okay with paying a bit extra for that too. I am happy to be with Helio. I've gotten great service, a great phone, and the satisfaction that they care about me as a customer. I came from Cingular, and I've never looked back.

Check out http://www.heliocity.net for more stuff about Helio. I love my Ocean, and don't know what I'd do without it. Let me know if you have any more specific questions, and I'll try to answer them.

Oh, and if you DO go with Helio, could you list me as your referral? I'd get 2 months of free service :)

2 lines with 1000 shared minutes and unlimited everything else is 120.00+ tax. Plus they have a new phone the "mysto" slider coming out.

Thanks for the info. If we do switch I'll keep you in mind.

W/ Verizon we get 1400 shared and texting for 160ish...

You could probably get the same from tmobile or sprint for a lot less.

I have a Helio and I love it. Like someone mentioned you pay a flat fee and you get unlimited internet and media(text, picture mail, etc). I can't speak for Verizon as I've never had it but I can say I'm much more happier with Helio than TMobile or Sprint. TMobile has crap coverage where I live and I had to drop them after using them for several years. The thing with Sprint is they tended to jack up my bill every month, and I'd find questionable extra charges every month. I always paid double or triple my plan price. Sprints a bunch of scammers and it drove me crazy. I personally like to phones Helio offer better than Verizon even though Verizon has more people on its network.

I may be wrong, but I've heard from other people that Helio uses both Sprint and Verizon towers. They use Sprint towers and when they are not available, they use Verizon towers. So I almost have no problems with getting service. But you can double check with a customer service rep about this. By the way, I have the Ocean.
