Boy, I sure hope this deal goes through. Some of these teams seem determined to seal their fate. Randolph to Denver would be a chemistry killer, not to mention they lose a bunch of shooting in Kleiza and Smith. http://www.nypost.com/seven/02152008/sports/knicks/nuggets_may_make_push_for_randolph_97697.htm
Other than maybe Carter......Kleiza and Najera are the only players on that team w/ half a brain. And if they swap them for Randolph, this just might end up the most knucklehead team in league history
I hope this wasn't the player Nuggets4 was referring to when he said it was a better player than Artest.
Randolph isn't too bad a fit... but the rumor says they are giving up Najera, Smith, and Kleiza for Zach and a pick. Don't know if I'd give that much up. I mean, the Knicks got Zach for basically Frye and the right to pay Steve Francis $30 million not to play. Najera and Kleiza are rotation guys... they are important now. You are messing with the chemistry of the team. Kleiza has shown room for improvement in future, too. I like the rumor for Rockets... if it happens, it messes up their chemistry... if it doesn't, it still does since it makes guys feel unwanted.
HA! God no. From what I heard, NY called the Nugs up and offered this package. Because we didn't say "no" immediately, the Knicks assumed we had interest. I'd put odds of any deal involving Randolph going down (because this isn't the package that NY asked for) at less than 1%.
Nuggets4, if your team does this, I will personally tie the millstone to your neck before you jump in the ocean. The chemistry on the Nugs will be blown up into tiny pieces. Baaaaaaad move for the Nuggets. If Zeke pulls this off, I can imagine him still coaching the Knicks next season.
Actually, they have enough of those guys with Camby, Najera, Carter, and Martin. They need scoring and shooting more than hustle and defense.
Anyone remember how happy Spike Lee and Knicks fans were when the Z-Ran trade was announced on Draft Day?
You know how confident I am that this deal won't go down? I'd meet you wherever you want and bring my own millstone for you to tie around my neck. The Nugs front office is very motivated right now. One of 'em said "I'm going hunting for *player name* in NO and I'm either coming back with him or not at all". If they get the player that they're most after, you guys will not be happy. I however will be ecstatic.
i dont think they need any more offense. they sure as hell can't afford to get rid of any depth. sure it would be nice to have an inside option on offense so not everything in perimeter but a slow unatletic guy like randolph would only hurt their running game. in other words... i hope it happens. go rockets!
I hope it happens, UNLESS the Nugs have a side deal to unload one of their other cap-killing bigs for a PG or SG that will put them over the top. Not that I know who that would be. Randolph can score, but that guy....I watched the Knicks once (maybe against the Rox?), where Randolph was surrounded by defenders, pivots, pivots, pivots, shoots. Would not pass to a teammate for the life of him.
He puts up decent numbers, but if you watch the games, he's a loser. He plays no defense, blocks no shots, and pretty much only shoots 18 foot jumpers. And he's a ballhog. He and Curry are probably the worst 4/5 defensive combo in nba history.
Nuggets need to lose either Nene or Kmart. Those two have max level salaries but spend way too much time on the injured list.
Now YOU are killing ME. Who is this mystery player? If the Nugs do make such a great trade, I'll need you to help me with the rope and millstone. I'm gonna guess it's Andre Miller. Just a hunch.
JR Smith on the Knicks would be a perfect match. Him, Nate Robinson, Eddy Curry and company all on the same team? I'm not sure what would be funnier, watching all of the bad shots they would take on the court or just reading the police blotter off the court?
Don't drag nate in with the rest of the scum on that team. if the knicks had any brains they would blow the team up, and keep balkman, lee and robinson. the rest trade off for what you can get.
