    thread title fail

raptors are dumb giving him a little more then 11 million a year.

hedo just saved the blazers believe it or not.

imagine if they are able to use that cap space now to somehow steal lamar odom away from the lakers (super doubtful but still)

I was surprised that he reached agreement with the Blazers after hearing about his wife liking Toronto, especially since the Raptors offered the same kind of money. Then, supposedly, the Raptors pulled back and didn't want him.

A_3P0, what do you think about the Blazers going after Miller? I know he's old and theoretically doesn't fit as well in a slow-paced offense but it seems to me Portland has plenty of talent at the wing positions. I think nabbing Miller for a 2 or 3 year deal would be best for them. Not sure what Miller is asking for though. If you have to tack a year on or something it may be worth it for the same reason it was worth it for them to risk a long-term contract with Hedo.

i really wish the blazers would do that :D , so the Lakers can become a lot weaker;we already took Ariza, if the blazer can take Odom the Fakers chances diminish by 50%...:D

Miller is a physical presence but he can't shoot. I'm not a big fan of Andre Miller going back to his Nuggets days. The Blazers need a PG that can hit a jumper. But Miller's ability to penetrate and finish is a plus. He and Blake would be a decent rotation at PG.

Kirk Hinrich would fit them better IMO. He's a decent shooter plus he would be a HUGE upgrade on defense and in toughness. He has an edge in his attitude and commits a few hard fouls.

Gotcha. I've always liked Miller's game. I think the ability to shoot the 3 ball gets overrated sometimes when a PG can do so many other things well (kind of like Lowry getting excessively knocked by some people around here for one of his few weaknesses). Look at how effective Tony Parker is in a slow-paced, halfcourt offense without being a good long-range shooter. I personally think Miller would be a great pickup for the Blazers and that the outside shooting wouldn't be a huge issue, far outweighed by all the things he does well. As far as his defense, I never really paid much attention. I remember a good PG saying Miller was the toughest defender he faced every season (can't remember who it was... Parker or Paul, maybe).

Being a good shooter and a good 3-point shooter are different things. Tony Parker is a GREAT mid-range shooter who doesn't need the 3-ball to dominate.

But your point is made. Miller + Blake would be a decent PG rotation for the Blazers.

If indeed Hedo signs with Toronto, will Bosh still be traded? Since Marion would be renounced then can/should the Rockets go after him?
