Greg Oden will not be asked to play a lot of minutes. This is probably ideal to get him into game speed and ready for later on during the playoffs. Although injuries still happen even if you try to limit minutes (see Yao Ming).
Good to see him on a contender after not playing for so long! Hopefully this doesn't give him a big head!
Meh, remember when Eddy Curry was supposed to turn it around on the Heat? Even assuming a healthy Oden, the dude hasn't been on a basketball court, much less practicing heavily for a long time now. I do think he will end up being more productive than Brandon Roy, but not a lot more.
Nah.. at best I see him as a big body they can throw at guys like Howard, M. Gasol, Hibbert or Lopez, for short periods of time. Don't get me wrong, if he's healthy, he'll help them in an area of weakness, but he doesn't make them strong at that position by any means.
When Greg Oden was healthy he was a force, but he's never healthy. I assume that the Heat signed him for cheap. It's a gamble worth making.
When we play the Heat we will just have Beverly go still the ball from him. He is just at knee level to Oden.
