http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/07/30/1754155/with-heat-season-tickets-sold.html wow i mean i can understand cutting costs and all but this blows for them
I wonder if the combined, annual salaries of the sales staff is more than what LeHour [is paid] ... an hour?
Interesting, right before Bosh signed, there was word that Miami Heat was reducing the commission received by season tickets sale staff from 10% to 3%. I guess Lebron finished them off. Yes, it makes perfect business sense. But it sounds like the kind of stuff that will lead to bad karma (stars get hurt, career over, nobody buys next year's tickets).
lol wut? Without him, do you think the season tickets would have sold out so quickly? Nobody is at fault here. Its just business.
seems like they could have at least offered some of them other jobs w/in the organization rather than firing them all outright. season ticket sales people are obviously not necessary, but i would imagine they could find stuff for them to do elsewhere.
Yeah, like have them come and inspect the concession stands at the American Airlines Center. Did you see how many health violations that place had in the OTL article?
I agree. You can't really fault the team for letting them go as they weren't actually promoting season tickets but just taking orders. I also think 'fired' is too harsh of a word. When I hear that word, I assume the employees did something wrong. I think laid off would of been more appropriate, or am I wrong?
There's no question this is a result of the decision of those 3 specifically, well more bosh and lebron, so they should split their salaries and cover them.
Come on, guys. Stop buying into the "Heat are evil" angle that media are using to generate page views and use your head. See below:
