Does this team have the heart of a champion? I think it does, but it won't be able to climb the mountain all the way to the top with JVG. He'll be able to take us far, but there seems to be something lacking from him that I believe is essential for a championship coach...a certain passion that rubs off on everyone around him. When I watch the Rockets play, I see the potential for the team to be very good if we are able to execute, but I think the system is too mechanical at times and takes away from players being able to play with emotion. I hope I'm wrong, but my gut reaction is that JVG's system makes it difficult for our Rockets to play with the heart of a champion.
Shouldn't the team have won something substantial (at least a divisional title) before laying claim to have a heart of a champion? As for JVG i think a lot of things are being overblown right now, JVG team's do adequate in the regular season, enough to make the playoffs and then in the playoffs JVG's teams excel. He took a 8th seeded team to the finals. Last year we were in 2 of the four games we lost up until the very end against a laker team many of whom thought would sweep or at least beat the team easily. Its not even December people calm down
