Does anyone have any suggestions for a healthy fast food dish? I usually do Quiznos or Subway (low fat menu) but I'm getting kind of tired of them, seeing as how I eat them for lunch 5 days a week.
Get a grilled chicken sandwich from Wendy's, a cup of chili and a side salad. Just be sure that the dressing is low fat.
Chicken Whopper without mayo or in fact any grilled chicken sandwich without mayo should be pretty healthy, no?
Imagine Rick James saying this, then the tape rewinding and him saying it again. "Subway is the only healthy fast food I know of." [short pause] "Yeah, Jason's Deli has some good healthy fast food."
Chicken or steak soft tacos from Taco Bell is one of the most filling, low-fat fast food items you can get. Dont get the regular ones though.
I heard the beef Taco Bell uses in regular tacos, burritos, etc. is just one step up from wet dog food.
The Taco Bell fajita burritos (the ones with the upgraded meat) are probably OK. I would assume most of the burrito places, like Chipotle, offer something fairly healthy as far as fast food goes. Especially if you don't put sour cream on it. Some of these burritos are a lot of food, but at least it has real food value and gives you energy (beans, rice, grilled chicken, etc.). Salads - healthy, sure, but there is the small problem that you're still hungry when you finish eating them. Your best bets for sandwiches are the chicken ones, especially grilled. Of course, you're probably going to eat fries with that. (even at places like Wendy's where there are other choices, because Wendy's fries are too darn good)
There's no such thing as "Grade D" (or any other "letter" grade for that matter) meat. Read up on the USDA's grading guidelines. I imagine snopes debunked this a long time ago.
Then I gotta try wet dog food. If it tastes sorta like Taco Bell and I can save $$$, I'm all over it.
Just tried that for lunch today. Pretty good. I'll have to try some chicken soft tacos tomorrow. Surely you can't mess up chicken, right?
While we're on the topic, how about fast food VEGETARIAN. The only real options I've found are Subway and Sonic (grilled cheese). Breakfast is pretty easy, but when you are running around at lunchtime, it is tough to find something other than Subway.
