Chicken Kitchen in Rice Village is pretty good. That Curry Mustard dressing can't be too healthy for you though.
If you consider subway healthy, then aren't there tons of sandwich places you can go to? I personally feel there's too much carbs with those big buns. But then again, I'm not dieting so I don't care. But if I were, slice bread seems a better way to go. More meat/veg to bread ratio. Unless you're getting a salad(no fried stuff on top), I don't think there is any fast food that meets most people's definition of "healthy".
If you use the whole wheat bread, those carbs are actually pretty health. Tastes better than white as well.
I don't know about healthy, but when I'm limiting carbs (obviously not recently), I eat at Wendy's a lot. Their salads are really good, and the Caesar side salad and small chili might be the best $2 meal in the world.
[rant]Subway's advertising campaign is brilliant. They've managed to convince a lot of people that pretty much anything at Subway is healthy. I'm not taking a shot at the OP at all, because I don't know what he orders when he goes there. However, I had a buddy in high school that would say "man, I think I wanna go healthy for dinner tonight, I wanna go to Subway." When we got to Subway, he'd proceed to order a foot long Cold Cut Trio with everything on it. I get the impression that most people that go to Subway because it is "healthy" fall into the same trap. When it comes down to it, there are very few items on their menu that are "healthy" unless you're eating nothing but turkey, vegetables, and some mustard on your wheat bread sandwich. And Jared is still a fat ass. [/rant] That being said, the first thing that pops into my mind is the Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich from Chik Fil A. You get grilled chicken, tomato, and lettuce on a whole wheat bun.
The only fast food I've eaten in the past year is the Veggie sandwich on wheat at Jimmy John's. And I only eat that based on TASTE! In fact I usually shy away from veggies like a 10 yr old. But the cheese and guac might take it a few notches down for the healthy crowd though.
I really don't know if there is a such thing as healthy fast food. Even grilled chicken sandwiches, which many promote as healthy alternatives, still pack over 400 calories just for the sandwich. For that much you can get eat two turkey sandwiches: 1 slice of bread = 70 calories x 4 = 280 calories, 1 slice of turkey breast = 30 calories x 4 = 120 calories. 280 + 120 = 400 calories.
Try Chipotle. I get a burrito bowl without the wrap, which saves a bunch of carbs. Then I sub out sour cream for extra salsa, which eliminates a bunch of fat. Think of it like a tex-mex sandwich shop - you can customize your meal to your diet.
I agree with that...I tend to think of the guy on "Supersize Me"...He eats 1-2 big macs a day, but no fries or drink...he's a bean pole...I haven't had Fast Food burgers in months and I don't really care too...I had Taco Bell after 2 months without fast food and my stomach hurt... I just ate Subway with Sunchips and gatorade...
What's wrong with calories? If you have 400 calories in a meal, or even more, you should be fine unless you're eating about 7 meals a day.
McDonalds just started serving a chipotle grilled chicken wrap that's not half bad. Definitely the most healthy thing I've ordered at a drive thru.
In a perfect world, I would eat fast food 3 times a day for the rest of my life. But, we dont live in a perfect world. Thus, I can't do this unless I want to explode. BTW, Subway has the "6 grams of fat" menu clearly marked. As long as you don't pile cheese and mayo on them (try mustard instead) and use wheat bread, I don't know how they can't be healthy.
Salads at fast food places are notorious for being high in sugar, fat, and calories. Not horrible for you or anything, but certainly not a healthy salad.
