My girlfriend has been in pain lately and havnt really figured out what it could be. Can not go to the doctor cause she recently quit her awful job, no insurance. I told her to write up something so I could ask everyone here and see wha they say. Anyone ever had these kind of symptoms or pain before? Is there any free clinics or whatever to go to when something like this happens and you have no insurance? Ive also noticed that when she takes some sinus medicine (sudefed cold and sinus) the pain almost goes away completely for a brief time. Not sure if this is some kind of allergy/sinus problem but Ive never heard of this kind of thing before. This is another thing I dont get but maybe could be allergy/sinus problem I guess. She gets around smoke being a bartender or waitress and comes home like above. Ive never really had a problem with allergies but this sort of thing seems strange. She has been bartending for a while now and I would say that in the last couple months this has started. Do you think these 2 things could be resolved with the same issue? Thanks for any advice or help in advance. Im concerened I would like to get whatever it is cleared up. No one likes to see their significant other in pain...
for the ear, try a couple drops of hydrogen peroxide. it's quite harmless (maybe a stinging sensation a few seconds) but can work miracles. it works for colds and since a cold medication helped, peroxide could too. as for the stomach, maybe a little bit of food poisoning.
Yes - I've used peroxide before as well. Sounds like an acute inner ear infection. Ear problems can also throw off your equilibrium which might be what's making her sick. My wife had tubes put in her ears when she was little, and has similar problems every couple years. If it stays this way you really should encourage her to get to a doctor...
man, that sucks...I would recommend a Dr. at a clinic if she can't afford it...That's what people do when they don't have insurance...It could be something serious and its better to be safe than sorry...
Agreed, probably an ear infection, i had tubes in my ears as well. I still have ear infections every once in awhile.
not sure what that is... thanks for everyones replys so quickly. I will probably try the peroxide 1st and foremost since a few of you have mentioned it resolving previous issues with the ear. look forward to others peoples opinions so i can figure this out
and i doubt its pregnancy unless its someone elses...then this thread would get quit interesting please dont let this post take away from the real issue...
That's possible. I have a bad wisdom tooth (no insurance either) and it gives me pretty much all of her symptoms. The pain comes and goes at random, too.
http://www.emedicinehealth.com/temporomandibular_joint_tmj_syndrome/article_em.htm TMJ Symptoms * Pain in the facial muscles and jaw joints may radiate to the neck or shoulders. Joints may be overstretched. You may experience muscle spasms from TMJ. You may feel pain every time you talk, chew, or yawn. Pain usually appears in the joint itself, in front of the ear, but it may move elsewhere in the skull, face, or jaw. * TMJ may cause ear pain, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), and hearing loss. Sometimes people mistake TMJ pain for an ear problem, such as an ear infection, when the ear is not the problem at all. * When the joints move, you may hear sounds, such as clicking, grating, and/or popping. Others may also be able to hear the sounds. Clicking and popping are common. This means the disc may be in an abnormal position. Sometimes no treatment is needed if the sounds give you no pain. * Your face and mouth may swell on the affected side. * The jaw may lock wide open (then it is dislocated), or it may not open fully at all. Also, upon opening, the lower jaw may deviate to one side. You may find yourself favoring one painful side or the other by opening your jaw awkwardly. These changes could be sudden. Your teeth may not fit properly together, and your bite may feel odd. * You may have trouble swallowing because of the muscle spasms. * Headache and dizziness may be caused by TMJ. You may feel nauseous or vomit.
if her problem is TMJ, would sinus medicine help it? dosnt make since that sudafed would stop the pain if indeed it was TMJ
