he has become a really humble player. i think he's cherishing the moment right now, knowing his legacy is at risk. hopefully he'll advance this year b/c that's the ONLY thing you hear about tracy right now that is bad.
Didn't really say too much. However, JVG was on right after T-Mac and he stated he believed we would advance to the 2nd round.
I don't know if anyone saw the bald Utah fan with "Go Jazz" painted onto his forehead, but he was the most obnoxious mother****er I have ever met. He sat in front of me for game 7 against Utah and somehow got 1 or 2 Rockets fans thrown out of the building.
1) he said the streak is special regardless of what people say and nobody can take that away from them 2) he said losing yao really dropped his expectations of the team b/c yao is our best player. with yao, we're a great team. without him, we're still pretty good though. 3) he said basketball is a TEAM game. and he doesn't get why people single him out all the time but he understands. he says he'll always have faith and keep believing that one day he'll advance.
Thanks for the recap! That's saddening. He went from "Glad to be in the second round" with Detroit, to "This one's on me" with Utah, to "I'll advance ONE DAY"... That's ok.. I know he'll advance. I'm just glad he finally learned to control his mouth.
Better than Yao calling his team soft after a game where he had 6 frigging rebounds. Anyways, about the Detroit series, I still believe that he thought it was still a 5 game playoff series! I know I thought it was 5 game series! Didn't NBA change to 7 game playoff series around that time? Maybe it is too embarrassing for him to admit that lol About "this one's one me" do you even know the context of his speech? He said he would take the blame if they don't get past round 1, how the f is that selfish??
[on streak] Amazing, never been involved in anything like it, blah blah blah [on expectations after Yao injury] Yao is the best player on the team, they can't replace him, he thought they were a great team and had high hopes prior to his injury, then his expectations dropped a bit, but thinks they're still a good team [on repeated 1st round failures] it's a team sport, they're not playing tennis, and he's still hopeful that it will happen for him but he needs to keep the faith. Overall, an uninteresting interview, so you didn't miss much... NOW, if you want good pre-game coverage, tune in to "My 20" (Ch. 20?) right now where they have a one-hour special on the Rockets, hosted by Marc Berman. I am watching it now.
Amen. He has said many things that wanna make you slap him hard across the face, but you really to feel sorry for him because he does truly give it his all come playoff time; but unfortunately for him, the team always fall short (literally) by one or two points and one or two critical rebounds.
