i noticed this a few days ago and i like how we got the prime 3 am and 8 am time slots. though i suppose i should just be glad they remembered we played in the finals. and i'm watching this suns/bulls game and seeing that oliver miller was at one point actually relatively in shape. i thought he had just always been a fat ass.
Just tuned in to see Kenny drop a couple of treys along with Horry's first of the game. Hakeem was making seeet passes out of the low post as soon as the double/triple team came. I have reasons not to like Kenny Smith on a personal level, but I seriously think we could have been in trouble against the Heat had we not game one of the series and that game was ALL about Kenny!!
i sometimes think the number of offensive fouls people think shaq commits is exaggerated but damn he should've fouled out of this game in the early 4th quarter. 3 clear offensive fouls that were either called travels or a block on us in one case. he was even more of a bull in a china shop back then than he is now. and damn we had a good team. the most unstoppable guy on the planet, a great #2 guy in drexler, horry one of the best role players ever at his peak, kenny draining 3's, elie draining 3's and playing tough D, cassell with the instant O, and then chucky and charles and even the infamous tracy murray. they were all just on such a roll in these playoffs. and damn walton is in love with us. and who would've thought our series with the sonics the next year would make the 3's in this series pale in comparison.
Great games throughout, man I have been tuned in to ESPN Classic all damn day long! That Bulls/Suns game was amazing, the Rockets/Magic game was amazing, as well as other earlier ones throughout the day. Good day to be a basketball junkie
I was able to watch both of those games this morning. I don't mean to spoil it for those who tivo'd them, but they have me so pumped up I can't help it. The Rockets hung on and managed to pull out victories in both of those games...again!!! PS---does anyone think they can go on to win either, or both, of those Finals series?
They have a shot in game 7 against the Knicks ONLY if they somehow contain Starks. If he goes off again Rox are toast...
Starks has had a great series, especially from 3 point range and fourth quarters, so there's pretty much no hope the Rockets can come up with a strategy to contain such an awesome clutch performer. All we can hope for is that Starks completely loses his shooting touch, that Riley has a brain fart and lets Starks keep shooting long range bricks, and that Starks finishes with some stupidly impossible stat line like 2 for 18 shooting, including 0-11 on 3 pointers. This may be the last good chance for the Dream era Rockets to win a title. If they lose, we may have to wait until the next set of Rockets superstars to bring home our first title. I've been reading some prospect files about this tall, athletic schoolkid(tracy something I think) and some giant Chinese kid who wants to play in the NBA some day. What are the chances that these two develop, end up with the Rockets, and....... Nah, that's ridiculous and foolish, even more remote than Starks going cold in game 7.
