[HEADS UP] MUTOMBO on Kimmel TONIGHT http://www.heraldbulletin.com/local/local_story_155013607.html Or im assuming from this article that he will be Spelling bee winner brushes up on NBA names AFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Scripps National Spelling Bee winner Sameer Mishra faced a new challenge during a taping of Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show — spelling the names of NBA stars. The 13-year-old from West Lafayette went head-to-head with the Houston Rockets’ Dikembe Mutombo for a segment airing Thursday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” “Don’t ask me how to spell his first name. I don’t know,” Sameer said of Mutombo before the taping Monday. Sameer has had interviews with media outlets including CNN and India Abroad and was set to tape an appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly on Tuesday. Sameer aced “guerdon” — a word that appropriately means “something that one has earned or gained” — to win the 81st version of the bee Friday night.

Wow, way to make yourself look like a nerd on National TV. So many weirdo kids with weirdo parents on national spelling bees. I feel sorry for them.
this will be the greatest show ever. side note i really like the jimmy kimmel show he has a lot of different athletes on and does a lot of cool and funny stuff thats different from other talk show hosts. loved it last year or 2 years ago when he had yao and tmac on the show

Yay me!) I will definitely watch! Edit: When did they start taping the day before the show goes on air... it used to be live.
which is why one day he'll be A LOT more successful than you will ever be and we wonder why America is falling behind
the few shows I've been to have been like that the earliest when I went two was like 2 years ago? he had fort minor performing in the back lot. but it was taped two days before the actual airing which made no sense to me since the show is called jimmy kimmel live! i could understand if it was taped on the west coast and live on the east. i should go more since i dont live too far from the el capitan and tickets are free
I always thought about that. If i lived in NY, i'd try to go to Conan's show at least once a week. Except that it's taped during the day, it would be kind of hard to make it
LOL I went 5 years ago... it was October of 2003. So its been a long time... I'll tell you the quick story... I got the tickets online and showed up to the theatre about a half hour early (cause it was first come first seated) so I ended up in the front row. The guests were crappy... Kelly Osborne, Cuba Gooding Junior's brother, Omar he was in some show on cable (after looking it up it was called Playmakers)... and no musical guest... that I can remember. Anyway. After the first break a cameraman comes up to a few of us in the front row and asks if we have any eye drops. Me, being a nice and prepared person, offered him contact drops. He says to me, no you keep it. When I cue you, put them in... you're going to pretend to cry. Confused, they started to play part of a video with Kelly and Ozzy and the guy tells me now. So obediently I put the drops in and pretend to cry over the video. And then there I am crying on tv over kelly's video. Jimmy of course makes a big sarcastic deal about how moving it was to see her and her father in the video and me crying. It was fun. I'd probably go often if I lived in the area. They started at like 8? maybe? I can't remember for sure. Good times if you have nothing better to do.
yeah its fun going its just the traffic and all in the area is always a pain to deal with i was upset i didnt go when tmac and yao were on i didnt know they were going to be guests otherwise i would have been all over that for sure. i've only been to leno once he films early in the day, i was actually asked a question though once on his jaywalking feature when he was at ucla but they didnt air it because i got it right my neighbor was one of the girls though that didnt know who the first president was though i think she said it was ben franklin. sigh
nope we were walking back from our classes it was in the afternoon. i made sure her roommates knew what happened. we all watched the episode the next night and had a good laugh
I think it's called Jimmy Kimmel Live because it is in front of a live studio audience. Also, just because this segment (which is most likely not on the set) was filmed a few days early does not mean that the entire show is filmed before the day it's aired.
That's true. Originally it was completely live.. and there was an open bar (of course that didn't last long) but I know the episode I went to was on live because minutes after I was on the air people called my cell phone to let me know they saw me on tv.
