He should be on any minute now, so tune in to your radio; you can also listen to it on their website...
He's on now... Not good news right off the bat, JVG saying Yao is having problems with his toes again (one of them), says might be worrisome.
Crap, so far, Yao's toe is messed up, Bonzi is fat, Spanoulis isn't playing well. Lol, hotel housekeeping is interrupting the interview.
Yao's toe is the worst news. I can careless if Bonzi blows to the air or Vspan turns over like a machine as long as Yao's toe is good.
Recap... 1) Yao has another bad toe and it's somewhat worrisome, according to JVG. 2) T-Mac kept himself in great shape, but nothing simulates real NBA basketball. Says he's at roughly the same weight despite reports of him being 'lighter'. Says he's setting a great example for the youngsters with "hard work and unselfishness". 3) On Snyder, he says if he 'conforms to how we play' he will find himself on the court. 4) On V-Span: Has very good quickness, tough smart kid, is an NBA talent. Needs to improve shooting, but really like his makeup and he has too many good qualities not to be a good NBA player. He will go by "Billy" based on what V-Span told JVG, so he will call him that. Says he's a "great kid, the kind of guy you want to root for," loves the game and competes hard, and we will see someone playing who loves the game. 5) Says he has a pretty good idea what the first 13 roster spots will go to, so just a couple of spots up in the air. 6) Says the Rox are playing more 5-on-5 for now trying to get in game shape. Then will work in technique afterward. Says we're a very welling group, and he loves the attitude of the players so far. 7) More clarification on Yao: according to K.Jones, he will miss some time, hopefully will be limited to a day or two and will be back by Monday's practice. 8) For Monday's "Open Practice", go to the TC because apparently some of the guys will be signing autographs afterwards.
'Nother update for those that can't hear: JVG says he's unsure of who will get the last two spots on the team. He's sure about the other 13. He also mentioned that there was a possibility that we will only take 14 players into the season. Also, Yao will have to miss some time. Foot doctor examined him and it seems Yao will have to miss a day or two of practice. Hopefully he'll be back no later than Monday.
thanks for the recap. Now if Yao's toe cannot sustain first two days of trainning camp, how can it surivive full season. Something about that toe needs to be done. I thought he is wearing super light titanium shoes to protect the toe.
Is Yao's current foot problems related to the infection he had, or the broken bone? I sure hope it's not the latter.
the toe that got infected. i've said it all along, take that nail out once and for all. Once it's gone, it can't get split, cracked, or ingrown. I'm pretty sure sir charles had both of his removed, though i'm not positive on that.
lol, like he's really gonna miss it. It's been nothing but a big thorn in his side for years now. Sew that badboy up for good.
Well that curbs our optimism; if Ming has chronic feet or toe problems, we can forget the lofty projections.
