He will be on sometimes between now and 6pm, so tune in if you want to hear it.

Last time BW joined them, he had some excellent insight on the Rockets, and came across as someone who really knows what he's talking about (Obviously, since he probably has observed these Rox play/practice/in other team functoins more than any other person alive -- outside the team personnel themselves of course).

Did I say Worrell? I meant Matt Bullard, and he's on now ;)

    Anyways, short recap:

    1) Praised the heck out of Luther Head, said this guy is special and he's known it since before the season even started.

    2) Said the GSW are a good team, and that the Rockets had to win it or otherwise they'ld have been down and lost some confidence.

    3) Said McGrady still doesn't look like he's in game shape yet, and that showed last night at times, and hopes he can hold up with a back-to-back situation.

    4) Talked about Yao, said that he has to face defenses Hakeem didn't have to face due to rule changes, and it makes it tougher on Yao. He says Yao will continue to improve incrementally and not make a huge leap at once.

    5) Said he doesn't believe that Rafer when he comes back will start right off the bat, said that it will be Head's "job to lose".

    6) He said Ray Allen seems to be breaking out from his slump since he scored 35 pt the past game, and he said the Rockets need to work on their perimeter defense.

    7) Said he saw/talked to DA and he is not going to be OK for tonight, he has strained calf I think is what he said and not just a bruised leg/knee. He doesn't think he will play tonight.

    8) About Artest, he said "I thought JVG said I won't have knuckleheads on this team. I don't think he will be brought in, Artest is the biggest knucklehead".

    9) Said Stro is coming along but still has some time to go. And said that he's surprised that Stro is being left to close out games, and he said he thought JVG would stick to "smart" players (not sure if this was a backhanded smack of Stro's IQ or not)

    10) Said he loved his job right now and is enjoying it, but Clyde will do a couple of road games to cover for him because he won't be able to be there (not sure which games).

    That's about what I got...

    Wesley's job to lose?

Great recap and analysis, by the way. Thanks for posting this.

Perhaps he meant as a closer. Head is always there as a closer. And I agree, Alston will have to work himself into the closer unit.

I got Matt Bullard's autograph in Memphis, he sure seems like a really nice guy.

Thanks for the recap, tiger! I agree with Bull about Luther. We've got another jewel that GM's will be kicking themselves over for passing in the draft.

I will definitely have to turn down the volume on the game(s) that Bullard and Drexler do together
