9 shooting attempts in 29 minutes of play time averagely.

Who is still on his bandwagon? This guy is so overrated. Rookie wall doesn't apply in his situation. His play making skills are limited too.

We need bench this guy, play Hayes more.

Thanks for enlightening us on the subject. Please tell us why the rookie wall doesn't apply here. Since Head plays SG and Hayes plays PF/C, why should JVG bench one for another?

Who should he be benched for? We don't exactly have depth at the guard position. I would much prefer Head geting playing time than our other only option Moochie.

In the situation which the Rockets are in, I don't see why Head should stay on the bench...He's prolly the best prospect of this organisation right now so we need to let him play some ball. I agree his shooting % ain't ''on point'' right now...but he's shooting so many 3pts, what should we expect?

From my younger days in Cleveland:

    Mark Price Rookie stats: FG% .408, 3p% .329
    2nd Year: .506 .486
    Career: .472 .402

John Stockton shot 18, 13 and 18% 3P his first three seasons but eventually became a 38.4% career 3p shooter.

Luther has some game to work on - we know it, he knows it, and Van Gundy probably has a notebook written up on it. For a rook drafted as high as he was we can only be happy for what he is contributing.

Nice layup on the break last night - he was flying! I would like to see him move to the hoop more - probably still scared of Gundy a bit - Tmac, Rafer and Dwes have to help him continue to build confidence and open up his game some more - he's probably way too tight esp. on defense.

So you want Hayes to take Head's playing time? Hayes at SG would get killed, not to mention he can't shoot from the outside. Have patience with Head, he's got talent.

JVG has no other options right now. If you are a Rocket fan and have been following your team you have to know that.

Derek Anderson who was our third leading scorer and playing some of his best basketball as a Rocket before he went down would be getting the majority of playing time at the shooting guard position which would move Luther Head down the bench and limit Wesley's minutes. And if Barry was back and healthy, we'd have even more options, more firepower. One or two more perimeter players coming back could make a world of difference. You will see that when they do come back but I'm afraid it will be a little too late.

he gets pt because he's clutch and was on a roll earlier this season. Maybe he hit the wall, maybe it's something else, but...

What he has shown earlier in the season is a good enough reason to stick with him.

You can't play Hayes in favor of Head. You can play Bobby Sura, Jon Barry or Derek Anderson in favor of Head, but all of them are injured. When they're back, I'm sure JVG will settle down the rookie and make him earn it. But right now, he's one of our best available options.

Luther wasn't expected to play so many minutes this season. He's hit the rookie wall lately, having been one of the few players available to us (practically?) every game.

He'll hit the bench if our guards are ever healthy.

I don't know anything about a rookie wall. I just think he hasn't been shooting well. He may be thinking about his shot too much and, as a result, lacks confidence. Every time he jacks a 3...I just wonder where it will land? It hasn't been landing in the hoop. It's usually a clanker. Every game he shoots poorly I don't think can be blamed on the rookie wall. I noticed at the shootarounds that he likes to shoot with Bowen. LOL
