Essouria and Marrakesh. Have heard great things. Any tips from those who have been?

I went to both cities this time last year. The night market in the main square in Marrakesh is really cool (street food, storytellers, shopping, etc).

Took the short bus ride to Essouria on the coast, which was beautiful. Really good fresh fish stalls right near the ocean.

If you have time, take the bus (or a shared taxi) to Imlil and the surrounding villages in the Atlas mountains. It's an east daytrip from Marrakesh.

    Enjoy!

I was in Morocco myself earlier this year. I stayed in Marrakesh two nights, then hopped on a tour to the sahara, and back. A lot of people there speak French as a second language. You may find some Spanish as well. The orange juice is great, and remember to haggle your price on anything in the market. Its what they do, it's kind of offensive if you don't. If you want to drink, been your own bottles because the country is dry.

I'll see what else I can remember, and post more later.

I thought the same, until I realized they add a teaspoon or two of sugar to it.
