We're taking a huge family trip to Mexico this weekend/next week. Heading out Friday night to make the drive to Phoenix, spending Saturday afternoon/evening and Sunday morning there before driving down to Rocky Point, Mexico. Here is where we're staying. Anyone ever been? If so, what do you recommend doing, eating or seeing?
Wow. Do the donkeys do tricks like in the circus? RM95....have a great time, and thanks for coming out last Friday night!
Absolutely! Sorry we didn't stay longer, but we were getting drunk and there was really nowhere to sit where we could hear you well. Plus, well, you were there so you may have been as uncomfortable as me. Just kidding, I just kept my political leanings to myself.
It's actually not too bad. I figure it'll cost us around $300 in gas for the trip there and back. It's like $118 a night per family for the condos. We'll be taking a lot of food (my parents are covering that) and may only eat out once or twice. I'm splitting the special insurance you need to buy for your car with my brother ($35), so all in all, it'll only be around $800 or so for my wife and me. $6 of that is for the triple-triple animal-style I'll have at In-n-Out first thing when I drive into Phoenix.
Very top of the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez by another name). If your looking at a map go west out of Tucson, turn left and Ajo and head south until you hit water. Mexican name is Puerto Penasco. My in-laws go all the time since they have time shares. I haven't been yet because I am still not sure if I want to take my young girls across the border. I'm probably just being paranoid.
Wow. I actually spent my senior spring break in rocky point. It's were the majority of Arizona college kids go. Although we went through Tuscon. What I remeber correctly , is that all the hotels have there own private beaches. There clustered together on the far side of town. I remeber it cost us $20 per cab ride to get to town. Your room will probably have a full kitchen so I would recommend you go stock up on provisions at the local grocery store. Otherwise, you'll have to drive into town three time a day. ... Oh Tacos are 10 pesos. The place (hotel cluster), suprisingly, was very family friendly. Evan during spring break there was very little raucus. In fact the only drama during my stay was me and my friend screaming at one another on the balcony late one night after I got lost trying to find our room. She got mad coz I was absent during our friends fight with her boyfriend. Anyway, after some drunken crying on her part (I dont remeber what I said) The Federals showed up. Make a long story short I expalined the situation in spanish and they asked me to go with them "to cool off." They dropped me of at a stripclub and that is where I met Victoria. Fun Times. Edit:there's a gas station right before you hit the border on the US side that sells the insurance for $25.
a bunch of my fraternity brothers have gone to rocky point the past few years.... apparently Arizona girls a E-A-S-Y. very, very E-A-S-Y. you should "lose" the wifey for a day
You speakum truth. Every young guy should take a Spring Break trip to Lake Havasu at least once. Good times. Sounds like a great trip RM95...bring back tequila.
