I read somewhere Head was involved in a robbery a few years back, he was driving the getaway car. Anyone has more detailes on this?

NO wonder he is not to take big shots.

So we're going to start multiple threads with "I heard blah blah blah"?

Don't know, might be true and might not be true, regardless I wouldn't care...

I read about his troubles in college a few weeks ago, but didn't want to make a big deal about it. Everyone deserves a second chance....

    Head arrested Tuesday in Urbana

By Bobby La Gesse | Senior writer

Illinois junior guard Luther Head was arrested late Tuesday by Urbana police for driving with a suspended license and not having automobile insurance.

Head was arrested at Green Street and Busey Avenue around midnight, according to Urbana police. Illinois Sports Information Director Kent Brown said Head was pulled over for rolling through a stop sign. He was released that night after posting bail, he said.

Illinois athletic director Ron Guenther, assistant athletic director Dana Brenner and Weber met on Wednesday and made the decision to bench Head for the Illini's 83-65 victory over Ohio State Wednesday night.

"We didn't have all the information today (Wednesday) to make a decision on whether he should play or not," Weber said. "We decided it was best that he shouldn't play. We kept him out today Wednesday)until we get all the facts and we will make a decision after that."

Weber is unsure if Head will be eligible to play against Purdue on Saturday. He will meet again with University administrators this afternoon to discuss Head's situation. Weber hopes to have it resolved at that time but said he will make a decision no later than Friday.

In November, Head was suspended four games in association with an apartment burglary in Champaign.
"I don't know, I'll be honest," Weber said when talking about if Head's prior suspension will influence the decision by the University. "In a way this is not the same but it's still a situation we have to deal with."

Weber talked to Head about the incident Wednesday and told Head because of his position in the community, more is expected of him.

"I told him, you are a college student but you're also a basketball player," Weber said. "Sometimes the kids don't realize how important they are and how much notoriety they get and that everything they do is analyzed. If he is a normal student you guys wouldn't know about it and you wouldn't ask about it but that is part of your job as a college basketball player at this level."

I don't have big problems with it, I mostly care about how well he plays, just curious about the facts and what it tells about his personality, just wanna know him better.

Driving with an expired license? Someone call the cops. ;)

Burglary is pretty serious but a lot of college kids make dumb mistakes. I remember Benson kicking down someones apartment door because he thought they stole his big screen t.v.

Luther seems like such a timid guy though, weird.

Wow. I'm very disappointed this happened. Hopefully Luther has been a responsible person ever since this mistake. Man O man does he owe Coach Weber. Missing facts could provide the answer, but I wonder why he never apologized to the victims.

Head is probably from 'Da Hood' and it takes a little while to get that criminal mentality out of your system. Not saying everyone from the hood is a crook, but your environment influences behavior no matter who you are. As we all know there are some very talented basketball players in prison that never made it to the pros. Here's to hoping Head is not a Head Case like Eddie G.
