    "He is not very talneted"

Richard Jefferson was commenting on Gerald Wallace yesterday, saw it on NBA.TV and he told the interviewer that "Gerlad Wallace is not very talented, and will never get to where I am." That is pretty cocky if you ask me.

I wish we would have kept Richard instead of trading for Eddie Griffin.... I could deal with the cockiness if he was a Rocket!

For someone who can't create his own shot, he is pretty confident.

He really has improved on his shot in the past couple years. He went off for 42 points tonight.

He has a great ability to get to the freethrow line too ala Maggette.

Wallace is talented enough to stuff Yao at the basket tonight.

If we draft Jefferson, we don't get Yao Ming

    Why?

    EG - 8.8 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.84 BPG
    RJ - 9.4 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 1.8 APG

I'd say EG actually had the superior rookie season.

I think he meant long term not just the rookie seasons. Also, Jefferson didn't go nuts for a little while.

You don't go off for 42 points or score 22-23 ppg with Mourning, Jason Collins, Eric Williams, and Zoran Planinic as your teammates, with no ability to create your own shot. That may have been the case a couple years ago or even the beginning of last year, but he has improved greatly in that area. The guy's become a darn good scorer.

was this said before or after the nets-b'cats game? wallace was a non-factor against jefferson. wallace only looked like a star the next nightaginst the rox. maybe jefferson didn't like some of wallace's fouls?

He would not have gone off like that without kidd playing. He is a decent player but he is not a guy you build a team around and he still has a problem creating his own shot. I think Cat is a better player than jefferson.

Jefferson was upset because Wallace took a flop and got one of the Nets players (some Euro PF) tossed out of the game. He's just sticking up for his teammate. I don't see anything wrong with that.

We would have never achieved nearly the success we have had if we didn't have Yao Ming. Oh wait...nevermind.

Dunno about that. The Rockets would have found away to make the NBA draft lottery. Kind of like what they trying to do now.

The guy averaged 21ppg in Kidd's absence last year, and over 22ppg w/o him this year. He's proven he can score the ball with or without Jason Kidd. Kidd makes it easier on Jefferson and helps him become a more efficient player, but Jefferson doesn't need Kidd to score.

Never said he was a guy you build a team around. There are many proven scorers who aren't franchise cornerstones.

    :D

However, I can't freakin' stand Jefferson. He's always been a cocky b*stard, then after last year's celebrity game at all-star weekend he made a complete ass of himself playing like it was game 7 of the NBA Finals. The players in the actual all-star game don't play as hard as he did against Aaron Carter and Frankie Muniz.

He's cocky, but never been busted for anything that would make him a bad boy thug. So, it's okay not to like him, but he deserves some respect. The "can't create his own shot" ideas have been way overblown. He can drive on most defenders.

without kidd for most of this year so far:

    23.4 pts 7.6 rebs 4.2 ast 1.12 stl 45% shooting, 35% 3pt 84% ft
