I am thinking about buying a HDTV but have concerns about regular programs look worse on HD TV, I live in Chicago area and most Rockets games are not in HD (NBA league pass). Can someone educate me more with educated opinions? Thanks

I have an HDTV and standard television is hard to deal with it just from a general downgrade perspective. I still think you should do it though and not worry about it. THe benefits far outweigh the downside.

I can't speak of the particular situation in the US, but I did extensive research into how a poor quality broadcast may look before buying my HD Plasma here in Australia.

Overall, I am happy with it. My view is that an HD TV doesn't make a crappy broadcast look any worse than it would on a normal TV, but if your TV is larger than normal then it will look a bit worse. However, sit back a could few yards and you won;t notice it as much.
