I know that rumors about this were reported in the other thread, but I thought this might deserve another thread in case people missed it there (especially since it seems to be more or less confirmed now): http://www.reuters.com/article/companyNewsAndPR/idUSL1627196120080216 http://www.reuters.com/article/rbssConsumerGoodsAndRetailNews/idUSL1637974620080216
Exactly - I'm not going to be able to afford an HD DVD, an HD DVD Player, or an HD TV any time within the next 5 years, therefore I don't give a flying flip about it. Though it's nice to know that by the time I will be able to afford it, everything will already be sorted out for me. Thanks Toshiba!
These threads always make me feel warm and fuzzy, as they further justify my decision to go with PS3 over 360... Just got my dual-shock-3's too. Pretty sweet...
if this is what you need to feel justification, the PS3 software library must be weaker than i had thought.
ummm, NO. I'm not moving to california just to be set up with guys who can't get a date on their own. I don't care if they're rich.
Uh, the key word there is "FURTHER," pally. Switch to decaf already, will you? I love my Uncharted, Burnout Paradise, Ratchet & Clank, Skate, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground, Fifa 08, NBA 2k8, Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW 2, Fight Night Round 3, and Virtua Tennis 3. I also love all the upscaled PS2/PS1 games I have left to play. I have more great games than I have time to play them. I also love the fact that my machine has never broken down, as opposed to my brother's 360, which just broke for the 4th time. I also couldn't care less about Bioshock or Halo 3. Played them both, thought they were meh. I have Gears of War on the PC, and Mass Effect is coming to PC. And let's not forget that PS3 is the only way I'll ever get my Tekken 6 fix, or my FF13 fix. Don't care too much about MGS4, but I'm sure that'll be good too. The Blu-Ray win is just icing on the cake.
eBay. They're out in Japan already, and accessories are region-less. You can get them for around $60 shipping included, which is pretty much exactly what you'd be paying if you waited for them to come out here. So, no reason not to just import them... it's amazing how much better Burnout is with a little feedback when you crash.
Anyone who has the HD DVD add on...or at least bought a 360 banking on HD DVD winning...is now up a creek without a paddle Or simply because unless Microsoft sucks it up and makes a blu-ray add on, 360 owners would have to purchase a stand alone player for high def movies.
does this mean that bluray is better than watching the HD movies on cable or satellite or Apple TV or Marketplace or illegal downloads of HD Divx or HD WMV? I guess I'll buy the Bluray add-on for the 360 when it comes out!
