Not that he is being a model citizen but can teams due this without players crossing a line by doing something overly egregious? If so, why shouldn't every team do this to players too expensive to cut but they don't want to pay salary on?
Haynesworth is going to get his money. Hardly can teams ever not pay a player without a serious issue occurring such as legal crimes.
This is also the team that benched McNabb in the last two minutes and counted on Rex Grossman to have a come back...
Shannahan really screwed up not dumping him for a pick this offseason. Pointless when you get into a petty spat with a player like this. And crazy as it sounds, I'd still buy him on the cheap and let him loose up front. You couldn't possibly convince me that keeping the Okoye/Cody tandem is acceptable.
They don't do it because a grievance could be filed by the NFLPA and more than likely the team would lose that scenario for just doing it to save money.
For so many defensive studs on that team, it's amazing how bad they perform. I'd love to have Carter, Carriker, Fletcher, McIntosh, and especially Landry here. I don't catch that many Washington games because they can't score nor play good D, but why's there secondary so bad? Are Rogers/Hall/Doughty/Landry just popular names but actually horrible players?
What a waste that dude has been this season. Looking like another primadonna from the Titans. If he could cut this VY cry baby crap, and play in our 4-3.....I'd take him. But man, I just can't stand players like him.
Question: How many sacks does the entire Texans Defensive Line have (not named Mario Williams)? Oh...I thought this was Jeopardy.
The entire Texans defensive line, sans Mario Williams, has just as many sacks as Mario Williams has by himself. What is 8.5?
Ditto - so it's upsetting that I'd gladly take him on. I half miss Travis Johnson at this point. He's only been given meaningful minutes in about 3 games this year. Even if you want to claim he really got a chance, that's 2.5 sacks in 8 games --> 5 in one season for a DT isn't anything to sniff at, and it's more than Okoye's managed in the past 3 seasons combined. 1 DT in the top 20 for sacks this year (Suh, a guy any team would KILL for) 3 in the top 30 Only 5 with more than 5.0 sacks
How can the Redskins not have this guy on the field for every defensive play? Suspended... they better have solid arguments for a suspension without pay.
Are corners and safeties in a 3-4 given different roles than that of a 4-3? Or is it a case of the front 7 handling the 3-4 so badly that everybody just breaks coverage?
According to the Redskins, he refused to cooperate with the coaches and he refused to play in the base defensive package or first and second down nickel packages. That is their stated rationale. Given the way that Vonnie Holiday tore into Fat Albert, I think they may have some legitimate complaints.
