http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/60990/free-agency-reports-hawks-eye-ellis Hawks looking to add Ellis and are interested in Bynum. Signing both definitely makes Teague available, signing just Ellis might do the same. I wonder if we could then do a S&T with ATL or would that be out of the question if they are signing these new players? Teague is a very interesting PG in my opinion.
Interestingly enough, Milwaukee, now coached by former Hawks coach Larry Drew, was reported to be interested in Teague, so...
If ATL misses out on Bynum but wants to sign Ellis, we could S&T Teague. Package could be built around Asik to give them that C or Lin to give them a PG next to Elllis, since they really don't like Teague apparently. I'm a big fan of Teague but I'm not sure what it would cost to get him.
LOL, over at Realgm, the headline reads "Hawks seriously bidding on Monta Ellis" Really? They have the need to put 'seriously' in their headlines? Guess they couldn't believe it either.
Ellis would be great with the Rockets team as assembled, yes he is a selfish young kid, but under McHale his talent would show through, IMO. DD
Man, people were worried about Smith chuckin' threes? Ellis hoisted 328 last season at .287%. Ouch! Maybe they were telling him to shoot those, but that's hard to believe.
Such a terrible player, probably the most overrated player in the league. Why would you give 11 million $$$ to Monta Ellis?
I said this awhile ago and now look....im good!! But seriously, this is a good move for Atlanta considering Ellis is the only top guy out there now that fills a need on their team. I would like to send : Asik/Lin +fillers to Atlanta For Horford/Teague Pair Milsap with Asik......pair Horford with Howard. Teague Harden Parsons Horford Howard
Ellis has been a great scorer from time to time, he just hasn't been put in a good situation to mature. Get him a good coach.
I'm a major Teague fan. I think him on our team would be a great move if made. No disrespect to Lin or Beverley but Teague imo is still unearthing his potential and in coming seasons, if playing with the right team(like our Rockets) could find himself in All-star voting conversations. ATL and Ferry are just crazy. (Not crazy enough to resign Josh Smith though:grin
Here's my point. Here are the top PGs, IMO: Tier 1: Westbrook Parker Rondo Paul Irving Lillard Williams Curry The only player available in Tier 1 is Rondo. After that you have some very solid PGs and I would take Teague towards the top of Tier 2. Other Tier 2 PGs could include: Holiday Jennings Hill Calderon Conley Vasquez Lawson Nelson Dragic Wall Rubio
Teague would be very solid point guard to put in the point guard position. He could almost be like Mario Chalmers in some way to the Rockets.
