Most of them don't realize how much difference there is between Francis and Mobley VS. JT and other guard. Also the original poster is not familar with our bench.

God those guys are big time homers! Most of them are saying Jason Terry has an edge over Mobley? I admit Terry is a good player but come on! Over Mobes? Who the heck is on their bench? One of them went as far as to say that their bench is better then ours and that is why they will win tomorrow!

I highly doubt their bench is better then

    Willis
    Griffin
    Morris
    Torres
    Moochie
    Walt

Just a bunch of biased Hawks fans opinions. :D

I hope they don't think all of their starters can play 48 minutes.

We almost have two starting lineups on our team.

Don't be mad all, but I kind of agree with some of what they said, but this is what I think.

    Francis v Davis -adv Hou
    Mobley v Terry -adv Even
    Rice v Kukoc -adv even
    Thomas v SAR -adv Hawks
    Cato v Ratliff -adv Hawks

This is where we will win it:
bench v bench -huge adv Hou

When we come off the bench with Willis, Norris, Griffin, Morris,Williams and Torres, this is our strength by a landslide. It will be a close game unless someone's main player takes the sorry pill. 8 pt victory should be fitting.

I think our bench is stronger, but our primary weapons have also played together much longer. That goes a long way. It should make the difference.

    Hmmmm.

There is no comparison between Mobley and Terry. They are on commpletely different levels.

I disagree. Since Kukoc was traded to Hawks, he averaged 20ppg, 6rpg, 6apg, and while shooting .492 from the field and astonishing .481 behind the arc. I high doubt Rice can put up those all-star numbers. Expect 14ppg, 3rpg, 2apg from him this year. And speaking of defense, not many players in the league can be as bad as Rice is.

Rice vs Kukoc - adv Hawks

No matter the matchups, I still say the Rocks have a much better team , which is what really counts.

Did everybody forget about defense? These roster comparisons always crack me up because they NEVER are that easy.

Rockets will be one of the top defensive teams this season. Bank on it. This team is dedicating itself to defense. AND they have the staff to do it now. With TMO, Griff, and Cato, Rocks can shut down nearly any team's cheap points. They gotta earn it. Plus Francis and Mobley will become strong defenders...other than dedication there is no reason why not.

Since the Rock's have the defensive stoppers, there is nobody that will "shut down" the Rocks offense without a gun.

The reason the Rocks have always been and always will be sucessful is the strong team play. Roster breakdowns don't work.

You can't define chemistry but you know it when you see it. That coupled with exceptional atheletic ability and pure scoring threats at virtually every spot will be why teams will hate to play us. Atlanta doesn't have a chance in this game.

    Rocks by 15.

Steve and Cat are too excited about this new season and will explode.

Other than Cato, not one Rocket appearance. Nobody wants to put their necks out for the Rocks...good or bad. Nobody is expecting much but somewhere in their mind they know we might do some good things. Just don't say that out loud.

My prediction: Rocks 6th seed in the West and win the 1st series.

Kukoc put up these numbers when on a lowly Hawks team without Shareef and an injured Theo Ratliff...kind of like he did on the Bulls after MJ and Pippen left. He would be lucky to do much better than or even get the numbers you predicted from Rice this season. (Probably close to the numbers he put up in Philly...) Toni isn't even assured a starting spot, as the Hawks could go with a Mohammed/Theo/Shareef frontcourt. DerMarr Johnson will also most likely get a fair shair of minutes this season at SF.

Atlanta has an excellent frontline of Shareef Abdur Rahim, and Theo Ratliff.

    Kukoc might surprise too.

I remember the last time the Rockets beat the Hawks, the Rockets had to overcome a double-digit deficit.

As long as Rice doesn't play too much- he isn't 100%, then the Rockets should make this season opener a thriller. Rudt T. ought to give Griffin at least 30 minutes.

The good backcourt of the Rockets versus the Hawks frontline.

We'll see the box score tomorrow.

I think that Hawks website contains the only fans of the Hawks. I just spoke to a resident of Atlanta (on his business trip) here in Dallas. He told me how apathetic the fans in Atlanta for the Hawks. You can get seats for $10 in front of the court.

Anyhow, I don't see Jason Terry or Dion Glover doing any damage against our backcourt. As for Toni Kukoc, he will get swatted by Griffin all day.

If we can beat San Antonio twice in two tries, then we can beat Atlanta any day.

all i gotta say is that the picture under that shareef abdur rahim fan kicks ass..... that and í hope y'all remember that no matter how many points terry had and how many points kukoc has been throwin up they still ended up way down to the bottom of the pool last season. I think we got a chance to eat them alive with our bench.

Remember, these guys are homers just like us. They do bring up some good points, but I feel that their chemistry and their bench is not up to snuff with ours. Also, factor in that Francis and Mobley can't wait to play and I think the Rockets will win but close. Don't be surprised to see the Hawks in the Eastern Playoffs maybe as high as a 6th seed.
