You're not alone. I guess Adrian Griffin is supposed to be a new, improved version, but I really liked Hawkins. He busted his rear playing D and was a selfless player. I thought he'd find a spot on the bench. Of course, I thought Terence Morris would as well.

Oscar Torres also went to the Warriors. I hope Hawk has more of an impact. Unfortunately I'm not that optimistic for him but Good Luck, Hawk!

Man, I love that guy, he's the most underrated player of the rockets. Hated to see him go, good luck Hawk.

I think when it was all said and done, it comes down to experience...

Adrian Griffin and Eric Piatowski have been in the league and the playoffs before(well I'm not sure about Piatowski)...

Meaning, we already have a bunch of young players that don't have experienced playoffs and having another guy like that just didn't fit us, now...

I won't be surprised to see him kill us defensively when he plays us but with Richardson and Pietrus plus Nick Van Exel, he doesn't look like he will get much PT... A Great defender...

    I think Pike has.

In 1994 against the Rockets, if he has been in the league that long.

Perhaps without realizing it, you have created a great trivia question....

Q: Name the FIVE 2003-04 Rockets with playoff experience.
A: Glen Rice (a ring), Adrian Griffin, Cat Mobley, Kelvin Cato (@ POR), and (drum please)....Eric Piatkowski.

Imagine how pissed people on this board would be if it had been Rudy who cut Hawkins. Or if the only moves the team made were to sign Griffin and Eric, for that matter.

I like the guy and wanted him back but after A.Griffin was signed we really didn't need him much.

Good Riddance. I wonder which end of the bench scrub will get thread after thread devoted to them now. Probably Boki.

I'm not sad to see him go. He was a good defender but he made too many bonehead plays and took too much of a role on offense. I remember him taking many ill advised shots. If your going to be a defensive specialist then be a defensive specialist. Don't disrupt the offense and take shots away from Steve, Yao, and Cuttino.

I don't get it, how can you call Hawkins overrated. BTW I am very sad to see him go. He definitely made the most of the limited minutes he got last season.:(
