I'm using the Adaptec Easy CD (or something like that), and I'm all of a sudden having a problem burning CDs. It used to work, which is the crazy thing. Anyway, it seems that whenever I try to mix recording wav files onto a CD with recording CD to CD, there's a problem. In my CD layout, I've got wav files mixed with regular CD tracks (I've got like zero hard drive space, so I have no choice but to record CD to CD mostly). Let's say a couple of wav files are first in the layout. It records those, then asks me to insert "CD 1". I do that, then after a while it says "You have chosen to cancel recording of the current track. Choose SKIP to go to the next track, or CANCEL to cancel the recording process". If I choose SKIP, it will repeat the same message for each track that isn't pre-recorded. WTF? The weird thing is that if I try to burn an entire CD by going CD-to-CD, it seems to work. Anybody have a clue here? This may be a shot in the dark, but you guys have helped me out in the past, so I figured this might be a good option. I tried to call their tech support line, and it wouldn't go through for some reason. Thanks.

    Freak,
I am not sure if you are having the same problems I did but when I used the earlier versions of Adaptec to record I had similar problems to the ones you are describing. I could copy an entire CD with no problem, but picking certain tracks on a few different CDs or burning a WAV file gives me problems. The reason is lack of Harddrive space.
On Adaptec Deluxe 4.0 you can burn MP3s straight onto a CD without converting them to a WAV. That helps since a WAV is like 10 times as big as a MP3.
The way I see it, if my example is the reason for your problems, you have two choices. One is to Delete alot of Extra crap that you dont need on your Harddrive anymore (I have done that), Or get Adaptec 4.0 and dont worry about WAV files anymore. I can try and send you 4.0 if you would like.

I don't know if that is the reason for your problems but it was my problem.

    Freak,
I know you don't what to hear this, but it really could be anything. Sometimes the slightest change to your computer can cause adaptec ez creator not to work. My suggestion is try and think of the last time it did work, have you made any recent changes to your system? If that doesn't work, you may want to try another software package, adaptec is very testy. Go to www.nero.com and try theirs, it seems to work with a lot of systems well.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help. I was just trying to make sure I wasn't going crazy. [IMG] Good to see others have experienced similar problems with this software. I'll look into those suggestions. Thanks again.

It uses the Hard Drive to cache itself, you need a bigger hard drive, or an additional one.

I just bought CAKEWALK PYRO for about 40 bucks, and IMO I think its the best software for Ripping, Burning, and storing MP3's. Cakewalk makes some of the best software for music, and this is a prime example.

Also....that is very true about HD space. I have a 4 GB hard drive (3 gigs used) and I dont have enough temp space to burn a whole CD. So make sure you have at least a couple of gigs avail...
