Clutchfamily, I recently leased out an apartment in South America that is a few blocks from a Sheraton Hotel. They have free wifi for all of their guests and I'm right on the perimeter of their range. Sometimes I can pick up the signal and other times I can't. What product should I be looking for (what is it called) that will help me boost my wifi reception. Are there any that can keep my info. protected while using an unsecured network? I would love to not have to pay for internet service if I can get it from the hotel for free.

    Thanks in advance.

Take your cell phone out, get an ethernet cable... wrap the cable around your phone about 3-4 times and then plug the ethernet cable in to your computer.

Your signal should improve by a couple bars if you mess around with where to hold your phone.

I doubt the hotel in South America has wireless-N. That's a major technological advance for them.

Reboot your jpeg ram. That should take care of the problem.

I wasn't being a wise ass when I typed this up, but looking at it now it seems like a wise ass thing I would say.

Just noting that I was actually serious.

Haha, thanks for clarifying that Moes, I always enjoy your sense of humor. But I just plug on end of the ethernet cable into the laptop and the second just hangs there around the phone? Did I understand that right? Does it really work?

That's why Moes has 3 green bars.

I actually seen a video of what Moes described but can't locate it.

Yeah I can't remember where the video is where I saw a guy do it, but I tried it and it actually did boost the signal a bit.
