Haven, I don't know if I'll see you this afternoon, and I want to get this done asap. Please try and fix Matt Morris back to normal for me. He's lost no talent at all during the season, and back in August, these were his ratings (from ccnet3) M. Morris 28 SP 7 6 8 6 5 C * Now, somehow, his talent went from good to poor in hits and he has a 0 in both ERA and hits. M. Morris 29 SP 0 0 8 6 5 C * I know this is some kind of computer error, so please let me know when you can fix this. Thanks.
Cat: One of 3 things: 1. It could be a glitch. Sometimes when ratings increase, they "roll over" to poor from excellent. That usually only happens when the rating is 9, however, and increasing to 10. So I'm not sure that could have happened here. Still seems the most probably explanation though, since these rollovers have happened before in our sim. I've just always noticed them before . 2. Injury. Players can decline from injury, but I don't think Morris was injured. Besides, his other ratings are consistent. 3. Pulling an Ankiel. Sometimes players will inexplicably decline, but never that sharply. And usually only in younger players. Oh, btw... ERA isn't a real category. ERA is a composite of the others. So the problem would only be in hits "hits" category. I'm at work, but I'll check it out when I get back. If there's not an injury or a mistake on the player development page, I'll change the rating to 8 in hits, since it seems most likely that his rating got reset during an increase.
The only injury Morris had between August and October was this: Sunday 9/2/2003 : Matt Morris was injured while pitching. Diagnosis: Hyper Extended Elbow. He is out for about 1-2 weeks. I don't think that could make him fall from 8 to 0!
Just wondering, but why 8. If his rating in hits was 6, and there was an increase, wouldnt that be 7?
I thought he was at 7, oops. If he was moving from "good" to "excellent" though, that might explain the problem. Ah, I see... his ERA was at 7, hits at 6. Got it.
