Have you forgiven Karl Malone for what he did to Magic?

Real Magic: Beating HIV is his most amazing feat
    Adrian Wojnarowski, Bergen Record

"'They're saying this because we've got the best team. They don't want you to play.' He retired then and I think he always regretted it." In his mind, Utah's Karl Malone was "one of the main reasons Earvin retired," and Scott has never completely forgiven him. After Scott left the Nets incredulous after challenging Malone to an on-court fight last year, the players didn't understand that this just wasn't about defending his team's honor, but settling an old score.

"To me, it was like Benedict Arnold," Scott said. "Karl had just played with him in the Olympics and won a gold medal and all of a sudden now, he doesn't want to play against him? ... Like I said, 'Don't let people make you retire because we have the best team.' "

I haven't forgiven him for the takedown on Clyde in the 97 playoffs, for trying to kick and elbow Hakeem for 15 years, for being a giant flaming ass, for setting back race relations 40 years by doing a Hardees commercial where he says "when I'm on the road, I dream of friiiied chicken." back in 1994

From breaking guy's ribs (Donyell Marshall), to knocking people unconscious (David Robinson), to busting people wide open for having a good game against the Jazz (Isiah Thomas), to making fun of someone's disease and thinking they're using it as an excuse not to play (Hakeem before Dream sent him home for the summer), Karl Malone isn't making ANY friends in the NBA!

I don't really remember how Malone went about expressing his feelings concerning Magic's situation, but I think he had every right to feel uneasy about playing against him. Personally, I don't think Magic should've played.

Karl Malone's a back-woods dumbass. Can't expect him to be enlightened.

I do blame him for getting away with all that crap for all those years, while the refs blow the whistle against Francis for just being young and brash.

When Karl is an old man and walks with a cane, I'll send my kid to kick it out from under him, then turn and point, screaming "Daddy, that bad man touched me funny!"

I've never held Malone accountable for whatever Magic did. It was Magic who decided to back out of the following season, in 1993, not Malone. No matter how much of a ruckus Malone stirred up, it boiled down to a single decision of Magic- stay and fac the music or bow to pressure by splittin' for greener pastures.

Malone did the american thing by voicing his insecurities and ignorance. The rest of the league followed suit. If Magic had more cojones, he'd stayed and kicked major tail- namely Malone's. :D

He went public and told the media that he did not think he should have to play against someone with HIV. He went about it in a really ****ty way. Karl Malone is a classless thug.

I was living in L.A. and a Lakers fan in the early '90s, and no, I haven't forgiven Malone.

But it's true that he was just expressing the ignorance of the entire league. I am still stunned that we didn't have AIDS awareness/fundraising ads during every NBA game ("Make the Assist. Help Stop AIDS."). Guess they all thought it was some dirty secret to be covered up.

No and I've also not forgiven him (or understood for that matter) him wearing a rebel flag hat.

I never had a problem with it. He was probably expressing the sentiments of a majority of the league who were too afraid to say anything.
