Does anyone know If Rudy and Carrol have talked to francis about why they want Ming ? I think if they had , it would be pretty easy to get him on board.

Great question! I have been wondering the same thing! It is obvious that Francis knows very little about Ming, thus his skepticism of Ming. Perhaps Rudy and CD are waiting until it is official and he is selected by the Rockets Wednesday night. Then they will talk to the team about him.

Rudy and CD definitely need to talk to Francis about Ming and how they want to impliment him on the team.

Since they have not given the player who they have even said will be the leader, information on Ming, they are responsible for Francis' negativity towards him.

I actually like the Rockets not consulting Francis too much. For a while, I was really scared that he was going to have too much front office push, especially when the Rockets took Morris last year (for a FIRST rounder!).

And, anyway, what if they have talked to him, and he says "no way?" If the Rockets really believe Ming is the next Great Big Man, then they couldn't let Steve change their minds. If the hype is correct, and Ming becomes the 2nd best center in basketball in a couple years... then he'll be worth more than Francis.

I don't know if that's true or not. But the Rockets seem extremely confident - they must be, with all the baggage that Ming brings due to his Chinese obligations.

CD- Ummm Mr. Francis sir, do you have a minute ?

SF- Yeah CD, just a minute, gotta call MTV back for the 10th time today and ask them when they plan on showing my crib. Why don't I get no repespect?

CD-Mr. Steve, is it okay if we draft Yao Ming from China. Ming is 7'6, 290lb center, and has an incredible shooting touch. He can shoot threes......(Francis interupts)

SF- NO NOT INTERESTED!! Carson Daly.. is that you, yeah, this is Steve in Houston calling about you guys showing my pad..... Your asking me if Yao Ming has a crib?? What about my pad??....... D@MN you Ming!!

I don't want them to ask Francis what he wants. I just want to know if they have told Steve Francis the reasons why they want Ming , and hopefully change his mind about him. I don't think Francis should have any say in who the Rockets draft.

Pffff!!! Anybody who believes that Francis was the main reason we have Morris is buying from the same dealer as Odom. Sure, Francis was thrilled to have a Maryland teammate join the squad, but it wasn't his idea to trade a future first round pick for him. Rudy scouted the hell out of Terrence Morris during his 4 years in college. He's said plenty of times that if Morris had come out earlier, they would have drafted him if they could. I still don't see any proof that Francis is against taking Ming. When things work out this season, a lot of you guys are gonna look like fairweather fans, praising Steve for improving and acting like you never begged for him to be traded.
