Okay so i got back on the job in april, and ive been on workers comp ever since, but the insurance company isnt paying me and im going to court for that on october but thats a whole different issue.

So the doctor put me back to work last thursday, I went to my job and they said we'll give you a call back. So today they said that right now they have no spots open and theyve fired over 50% of the people and their going stop by my house today to pick up all my work clothes n etc.

So im going to the Unemlpyment office tomm and going to file for unemployment as of last thursday, have any of you guys applied been on it? Hows the process? Any details ill greatly appreciate.

You can do it over the phone. You don't even have to go to the office.

Not proud of it, but I have. You dont have to go to an office though. You can do it all over the interweb (Assuming you live in Texas). Visit The Texas Workforce Commission Website and apply for benefits. Pretty cut and dry.

Hope this helps. And good luck finding a new job. ;)

Why not? You (and your employer) have been paying for it.

I dunno, I just couldn't do it. Plus I wasn't gonna be gettin hardly anything. I was making 475 a week at the job, then they shut the place down. When I applied it said I was only going to be getting about 175 a week.

I did a long time ago in Michigan.

It was an embarrassing and humiliating experience.

I could never get comfortable getting money for nothing.

Two weeks later I got a job washing dishes.

If the company that just laid you off is paying it (that's how I understand it at least) then I have no problem taking it. Screw pride, you do what you have to do to take care of your family.

It's basically getting paid to find a better job. That the money is paid by the company that just canned you makes it all the better.

I got laid off last year and was planning on applying for it, but found another job with the company before my last day.

What the hell would I do with 175 a week? I might as well go out and actually work and make 2 or 3 times as much.
