Hasheem is so trash.
we traded Shane battier for him and look what happened. I don't know what morey was thinking about that trade.
Hasheem just does not have the talent and the reason is happy is probably is because he's making money doing nothing, which can work for people who do not really love the game.
That doesn't make sense at all. How can you come to the conclusion that a player has no talent because he is happy making the money? Isn't it usually the total opposite? Talented player doesn't choose to work hard because they're getting paid. From what I've seen of Hasheem in college, he has loads of talent. He man handled everyone and was a monster. His problem was that the Griz coach sucks at developing their young talent. They killed Hasheem's confidence, and now he will be a scrub for all eternity because he doesn't believe in himself. I believe it's the Griz fault because the exact same thing has happened to OJ Mayo. Granted that Mayo is not a scrub, he is a spark plug role player, BUT look at his rookie year. You could argue his rookie year was better than D-Rose, and look where Rose is at now. Another previos young Griz that comes to mind is Xavier Henry. But he probably would have bust with any other team. Blame the Griz!
In college he was just larger than everyone. That's how he dominated. He had no skill. The alarm flags should've gone up whe DeJuan Blair manhandles him in the tournament. Look who the more productive one is now. As for his motivation, I'm sure Hasheem has realized he sucks...but he enjoys the money while he has it. He's not going to work on getting better. He's not gonna get another NBA contract most likely
We didn't trade Battier for Thabeet. We traded Battier for the Memphis 1st round pick. It didn't hurt that we got a project on a large expiring as part of the deal. We used it to acquire Camby. We essentially traded Battier for Motiejunas and Camby. Then we replaced Battier with Parsons. And you are complaining?
He is a nice guy but isnt cut out for the game.. Maybe if he can really work with a strength and conditioning coach and work on hand eye coordination he can find his niche on the court.
No, we traded Battier (who was most likely leaving afterward) for that memphis pick and a salary filler (thabust). That pick is the reason we have Donatas. It was a great move.
Yes he will... If people want to still give a 56 YO Oden a contract, they will give a 20 something year old Thabeet a contract. He is tall and athletic, that's all the matters. Sign him incredibly cheap and take a shot at developing him. Not us, but people will. Guaranteed.
The trade was more about the 1st round draft pick the Rockets took with him to justify taking salary off their books for this season so the Grizz could re-sign Gasol. The Rockets had the cap space this year so it really didnt matter. Thabeet was never in their longterm plans, and they gave nothing up for him other than a 5 week rental of Battier who was not going to be a Rocket at the end of the season. That 1st round pick allowed the Rockets to move up to take Donatas Montiejunas. If Montiejunas turns out to be anything worthwhile you can thank Thabeets' sorry butt for that draft pick that turned into Donatas.
No, the pick from the suns was the one we used, to trade for the pick, that we drafted donatas with. True story.
You are partially right. The pick from the Suns was the 23rd overall pick (originally from Orlando) We packaged it with the Memphis 1st (along with Brad Miller) for Donuts (and Jonny Flynn).
