Either he forefeits his player option or he signs an extension contract right away, right?

he hasnt done it yet supposedly but their is believed to be a deal that he will waive the opt out or sign a max deal...i doubt the rockets would trade who they did without having this in order

If true, the Rockets will be doing two Max contracts next year. T-Mac at like 7 years 140M (Kobe like) and Yao's extension at 7 years 100M? Is Les prepared to fork over 250M all at once? I hope so.

But I'm sure T-Mac will be looking for a Max deal. He is only 25 so he would be worth it. Maybe he will just agree not to opt out so we will have him for 3 years (at least).

I highly believe that part of the deal to make the trade with Mcgrady was for him not to opt out and we would get him for three years and maybe sign an extension.

This is a detail that i doubt CD and Les kept out. We will hear soon enough what they decided to do with it etc. Im pretty sure he is going to sign an extension and not opt out of his contract.
