I was shocked by Rudy's press conference, especially now that I've seen the pics from Fox. I expected him to be upset, but he looked positively devastated.

I wonder how this will affect Rudy's approach/enthusiasm for coaching the team in a new direction. It's pretty obvious over the years that his love for Dream on this team was strong, and that he considered Olajuwon to be a symbol of the Rockets.

He looked like a defeated man. Did he even mention moving on in some capacity? Maybe, like many here, he never really thought Dream would leave.

I hope not. I hope this depression fades quickly and he gets enthusiastic at the thought of taking this team back to the top.

RT is extremely loyal...witness his long career with Rocks. I guess he saw Dream following his and Calvin Murphy's example and retiring a Rocket. Dream has meant so much to the team...RT and HO will be tied together emotionally forever.

RT will have to mourn this loss for a while and let's pray his bud CD makes some nice moves to bring him a new center.

He comes out of it as a better coach, now its not any loyalty to a player that didn't fit in but doing what is the best for the team and the best players on the floor without worrying about hurting any feelings. I hate to lose Hakeem but he was the one that made the decision, now Rudy is free to coach without worrying about what he will read in the paper the next morning about what a player thinks.

Matt Bullard a.k.a. "The Bull" must be re-signed. He is now the only player left from the championship days. He can sit on the IR all year as long as he is there with the team. He might even be able to fill in on the color commentary when Calvin misses a game. Bring back THE BULL!

I certainly hope so. He was saying stuff like the situation feels 'empty' because it's the first time Hakeem hasn't been a Rocket.

C'mon Rudy! Mourn a little, but snap out of it quickly. We need ya.
