    The site address:

Is it just me or Yao's Mandarin is hard to understand? I could understand 80% of what that reporter said but only about 50% of Yao. Does he have heavy Shanghai dialect or what?

I can understand him 100%. Yao actually speaks madarin more like a person from Northern China than from Shanghai.

The 56k version has very low audio quality. Try listening to the 300k version. Much clearer. And Yao speaks the standard mandarin. Of course the reporter speaks much clearly compared to Yao. That's his job.

I found out some of the questions were really stupid. From my point, that reporter was worse than Yao. sometimes he didnot state his questions clearly

Man, if you don't understand Yao's Chinese, your listening comprehension needs serious improvement. I lived in Beijing for a long time, and I understand his Chinese perfectly, even he's not from Beijing.

BTW, that reporter asked so many meaningless questions, and Yao was getting really irritated toward the end.

Well maybe that's because Mandarin is not my mother tongue so I can relate to a non-native speaker more than a native speaker.

Hey guys, do you know if there are any translations for the interviews? Unfortunately, I don't speak and understand Mandarin very well. I speak Fukienese though.

Ò¦Ã÷ is really fatter than before.
The reporter can't express his ideas clearly and seems to be so interested in Chinese food and Yao's driving skills.

There is really nothing new in that interview. If you don't understand mandarin, you didn't miss anything.
