That is really nothing more than a juice fast that has been practiced by people for hundreds of years. You don't need their special "diet juice". Just drink orange juice, cranberry juice or any other juice you like and LOTS of water. Don't exert yourself and rest. You'll feel like crap even after it's over but that will subside and then you'll feel much better. However, since this is water weight loss, you'll have to maintain a healthy eating pattern afterwards or gain all that back AND do some temporary harm to your cardiovascular system which is taxed by the up and down weight changes. When you don't eat, the body starts releasing toxins into the system because it has less to concentrate on. Digestion eats up (no pun intended) a TON of the body's energy. Here is the answer to one of their FAQ questions: Q. I finished the diet, what do I do? A. First celebrate! For two days you took care of yourself, and gave your body a vacation. You have successfully completed your 48 hours, lost weight, and taken a great step toward a bright future. Afterwards, it is important to continue a light and healthy eating schedule; eat more fruits and vegetables; cut down on meat, sugar, oils, flour, dairy, and fatty foods; exercise at least 30 minutes 5 days a week (walking is great!); don't eat after 6 p.m. Continuing a light and healthy eating schedule, eating more fruits and vegetables, cutting down on meat, sugar oils, flour, dairy and fatty foods, exercising 30 minutes 5 days a week and not eating after 6pm is actually the best diet ever invented and it lasts a lifetime. Good idea but nothing that requires you spend your money on their "Miracle Diet". There is no miracle to living healthy and fasting once in a while. ------------------ I am very very sleepy.
i have a diet for you: my mother passed away over the holidays and I lost at least 15-20 in a week and continue to lose...I had some pants tailored in early december that now look like they belong to andre the giant..... i dont recommend nor wish this diet on anyone actually.. try to eat somewhat sensibly and make your largest meal during the day...dont eat jack sh*t at night if you can or small amounts...that may be a slower process than my extreme but i think it works as well.. ------------------ i am a friend of sarah connors i was told she was here can i see her please
Well, not for nothing. You did lose the weight so that's good. Just remember that the word "diet" should be a term that describes your lifestyle, not a short-term fix to a long-term problem. Here's a good piece of advice I read from a person I really respect when it comes to health: unless you are dangerously obese, any diet you take on should be something that you can live with for the rest of your life. That's the reason the high protein or high carbohydrate diets, ultimately, don't solve the long-term problem of staying healthy because you cannot stay on them for the rest of your life. Glad to hear you lost the weight. Good luck keeping it off. The best thing you can be is healthy. ------------------ I am very very sleepy.
Way to go. Excercise is the key. If you excercise you can pretty much eat what you want. In my case, excercise really curbs my desire to eat. I think in general that is true. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
Not to be rude or anything, but I have to work to gain/maintain my weight. I have a freaky metabolism - I keep hoping it will go down a bit, but I must take after my grandfather who also had to fight to keep weight on. Especially because i do not eat animal products, so there is not all that fat. But really, I gain weight most when i exercise and so it is the same key - exercise for losing as it is for gaining. Like Jeff said, with those temporary dies you have to be careful about putting your body into shock - by drastically changing diet for a little while, then going right back to normal. ------------------ EZLN
Diets may work temporarily but it really is a lifestyle change that is needed to manage weight. I think a good balance of watching what you eat, some calorie restriction, and exercise for a continued duration of several months garners the best results. It works for me. The problem with diets is they never last and as soon as you go back to what you were doing...hello weight gain. Not to mention that most are unhealthy diets. Usually, the faster a diet works, the shorter the weight loss will last in my experience before you gain it all back and then some. If one could just ride a bike for 30 minutes a day or jog a few miles a day, the weight will peel off in no time at all in my experience. I heard a statement about diets that I find so true....diets are for sedentary people who are not active enough. Sure, you can be overweight and in good shape but the two usually don't go together.
