I just got hired on as a Customer Service Associate: Broadband Service Provider and start the four-week training period next Monday. I didn't think I would be hired because I found the entrance tests rather difficult (there was a lot of stuff about Windows NT and I've only ever used Win95/98, etc..). Anyway, this is only a temporary job for me that I plan on quitting in mid-August (going back to school in Sept.) so I'm not too worried. But, have any one of you worked at Convergys? What was it like? Any tips?
What is convergys? I use to pass by that place on the beltway and I-45 all the time and see a lot of cars there at almost every hour of the day. Is it some IT place?
Whoa, I've seen their add on a number of occasions looking for temporarys. Unfortunately I can't help you since I've never worked there but I've always been interested. Keep us updated.
http://www.convergys.com/ It's a call center. They provide customer service about billing, tech support, etc.. They have call centers all over North America.
I had a roomate that worked there, and he didn't hate it, but you have to know what you're getting into working at a call center... They used to have lots of cool benefits, but I don't know if that's true anymore.
It's a good startup place to gain experience into the IT field, but they work your ass off. You get monitored like crazy there (I heard). 3 years ago, I would of done it for the experience, but the place was waaaaay too far. Now I don't need it.
