Pretty straight forward question. Has anybody dealt with this rifle? It looks really interesting with the 7.62 round and its ability to accept ak mags. Any input or info would be degithful.

Heavier than a milled receiver AK without the reliability. Accuracy is much lower than a SCAR 16S so your useful range will be limited. At 100 yards I was all over with it compared to 2" groups on the same day with the FN. Might be a good hog gun for 100 yards or less if you hate AK variants and don't want a .308 semi. Very limited market potential IMO.

Ive read that the accuracy was actually really tight with this rifle. they claim it to be the 'mercedes of ak's'. im not going as far to agree with it but would like to shoot and fell one for myself. were you at a range that had one? if so which one? thanks

It was privately owned. The 7.62x39 is an inherently not so accurate cartridge plus most ammo that people have is mil-spec which doesn't help. I think if someone just loved Sig rifles, or had 200K rounds of 7.62x39 this would be an awesome rifle. AK's that are from parts kits have variable build quality and don't have the backing of a large company like Sig.

Why do you need all that power? Are you looking to shoot out cyborgs in the future? Are you fighting in the middle east?

that's my reasoning for considering it. not nearly 200k but an ample amount of it and more than enough mags. i have an ak and just liked the design of this rifle, especially with the ability to change/modify the gas piston.

Go for it then. My main two problems with it (mags and ammo) are positives for someone like you. The one I shot had factory mags so you might want to investigate if the reliability is the same with whatever AK mags you own.

I just can't justify the 7.62 rifles due to increased costs per round and decreased accuracy when burst firing. I'll take a 5.56/.223 rifle any day.

They are fantastic guns, I just wouldn't be able to enjoy them as often.

with the profit you can go out and get another one. basically a free gun. doesnt get any better

the price of the 7.62 has gone up slightly but i stocked up before the ammo crisis and would like a new gun to shoot them through. the 5.56/223 has never really been cheap and thats whats holding me back from getting an ar or anything of that caliber.

like bandwagoner said earlier, it could be a good hog gun and i intended it for that reason partially. not saying that the 223 couldnt handle the job but if i ran across a 400lb sow, i would want more knock down power.

only thing holding me back is knowing someone with one so i can actually feel it and fire it for myself.

For sure 7.62 is the better hog gun. The .223 gets the job done, but you sure as crap better have a .45 on your hip just in case you get a huge one bearing down on you, or if a pack heads your way.

    Case in point...

With that said... the perfect hog gun just may be the Saiga 12 with a drum mag.

I think that might be the worst choice ever. Would prefer almost any type of rifle over that.
