Is it ok to wonder about having him on the rockets or has he been a jazzy too long and is thus unrocketable? Ranks #13 in the NBA in Blocks Per Game(1.93) Ranks #11 in the NBA in Blocks(131.0) Ranks #8 in the NBA in Steals Per Turnover(1.0) Ranks #18 in the NBA in Free Throws Per 48 Minutes(6.26) Ranks #9 in the NBA in Steals Per 48 Minutes(2.66) Ranks #8 in the NBA in Blocks Per 48 Minutes(3.63) he's having one heck of a year at 21-22 yrs old wonder if Utah would take our 1st rounder for him or is that too much if we have a top 5 pick?
this is so sad. A fellow Rockets fanatic, lpbman, has been infected and he doesn't even realize it. What can we do? We all got infected when Shandon signed merely to find it was all bad Jazz...we are all in slow recovery from that. We all know that we shouldn't let it happen to lpbman, too. He needs an intervention. ...help me talk him out of it.
I wish no one would post per 48 min stats. First, no one plays 48 minutes. Second, the only time they are used is with somebody that isn't good enough to earn more minutes. They are bogus stats to try to elevate bad players or mediocre players. Per game stats are the best because they take into account how long the player was able to keep himself in the game.
I would agree with you if we're talking about Jahidi White (who would pull down 12 rbs a game if he played 35 minutes) He's also playing behind Russel and Marshall I think per minute stats are a good indicator for rookies, but if you really can't stand per minute stats how about 1.93 bpg more than Eddie, in fewer minutes to quote some movie or something He got game
I think Kirilenko has tons of potential. He is underrated compared to the more heralded rookies. But the Jazz would be crazy to let him go. I don't see them doing that.
He looks like he's infected with something, dude's ugly. Regardless, I'm guessing that he's untouchable as far as the Jazz are concerned.
Marshall is a restricted FA this summer so is Keon Clark come on CD work your magic Francis 22ppg Mobley 21ppg Marshall 16 ppg Griffin est 15 ppg Clark 12 ppg I think Toronto is so desperate for a second scorer, they'd trade Clark for Taylor, even off of the injury. Perhaps just calling the draft pick owed to us off could be enough. Marshall we could probably pick up with a draft pick of some sort, or simply wait until Utah cuts him and be first in the short line to get him. Marshall is the ONLY low post threat FA this year besides maybe Kandy just my .02
Gross. By the way Hydra, what's wrong with using per 48 min stats? A guy plays 30 min because he's one of the main 5. Another plays 20 min because he's in a team that isn't a serious contender and there's a jam at his positions. Bam. per 48 min stats have a use.
Where's clyde at? He needs to teach us how to say "eat something" in Russian, so we can pass it along to Jerry Sloan. That dude ain't right at 6'9" and 145.
Per 48 minute stats reward players for low playing time. Earlier this year Langhi was putting up decent 48min numbers, but if you are only playing 2 min per game that is what happens. There are reasons why players do not play many minutes, the biggest is that they are not very good. Sure some teams platoon players, but if you where good enough to put up the numbers that people would post to make a point, then you would probably be good enough to demand enough minutes to make per 48 stats irrelevent.
Another player for Steve and Cuttino not to pass to. How do you say "PASS THE ****ING ROCK!" in Russian?
Hydra, you took the words right out of my mouth. 48min stats really do suck because suppose a player avg 5pts in 8 mins, are we going to say if he played 48 he'll avg 30? It really does sux, but Kirilenko is played good plus he plus he's in a player friendly system. When they get Lopez from real Madrid here, they will have some blocks to build on. It would be a plus if Sloan would stick around too. I like those old school hard nosed coaches that don't take any slacking.
The Jazz are far too sold on Kirilenko to just give him up for whatever. Honestly, they don't have a lot of youth to build on, so they have to stick with what they have. A lot of people around here herald K as the next generation building block for a playoff dynasty. I do like the way he plays, though. But no... we'd have to give up way too much, and he wouldn't make that much of an impact.
Chucky Brown per 48 Minutes 14.8 ppg 11.1 rbg which would be 6th in the league 5.54 blocks per game 1st in the league 1.87 steals 7th all at an NBA record 66.7 FG% if he had enough shots. The problem is: he is also averaging an NBA Record 6.5 fouls per game, so something has to give.
