I'm about to go to sleep but was simply pondering this question.

Has a team ever had the 1st and 2nd overall pick in the NBA Draft?

No team has ever had both. I'd go so far to say that no team has come closer than the Rockets in '84 to get both by trading Sampson for Jordan.

That said, the Pistons won the title twice with both the #1 and #2 players from the same draft (1981)...Isiah and Aguirre...who coincidentally faced each other in the '78 Illinois state championships. Anyone want to guess who won?

Didn't the Rockets get Sampson with the #1 pick and Rodney McCray with the #3 pick (passing on Clyde Drexler who went ~#16 to Portland)? That's pretty close.

Didn't Chicago have #2 and #3 and picked Tyson Chandler and Eddie Curry? Ouch.

My bad. It was #2 and #4. Gave up Elton Brand and passed on Pau Gasol.

The Colts had the #1 and #2 in the NFL draft in 1992 and selected Steve Emtman and Quentin Coryatt.

    Never happened in the NBA.

It was terrible drafting, but I think it was the same GM who built the six championship teams, so the guy wasn't a total idiot.

It will probably happen in 2012. The Clippers will have their own pick and the T-Wolves pick (unprotected) for that draft...

Now that we finally have one more win than them, I can finally say yes, they will suck that much. They are the clippers, and clippers suck. They are and will be who we thought they are.

Yes. You can see Griffin's exuberance already waning.. I guarantee he's thinking "four more years of this ****?"
