An accused robber shot in the eye by a homeowner is in the hospital and his alleged accomplices are in custody in connection with two home invasions in northwest Harris County overnight, said Lt. Rolf Nelson with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators are looking into whether the two incidents are related. In both — one happened around 10 p.m. followed by another around 2:30 a.m. — three men kicked in the doors of residences.
In the first attempted robbery, at an apartment in the 15900 block of FM 529, the men kicked in the door and fatally shot a dog inside. They fled when they heard police sirens.
In the second incident, at a home in the 11900 block of Madison Oak, three men kicked in the door before the homeowner shot one of them, Nelson said. A short while later, three men, one of them shot, arrived at Cy-Fair Hospital, where they were arrested.

I wonder if he saw it coming jokes are sure to come... but what a shot

I know fluke things happen all the time, but how do you get shot in the eye and not die?

Talk about a bad day at the office....

Hey guys, lets go rob someone. I need some quick cash! Whose in?

Attempt #1 - break in house, shoot dog to death, run for your life empty handed when you hear a siren.

Attempt #2 - break in house, get shot in the eye, leave empty handed, go to hospital, get arrested.

    LOL.

that would be my question. i guess he got shot from the side and it grazed his eye? obviously if it was from the front he would've died, but maybe it wasn't a real gun but something else? BB gun? haha, you'll shoot an eye out with that thing ralphie

By the way, I'm really glad that guy got shot. Short of violent crimes like murder and rape, I can not think of a crime that is scarier and more invasive than a forced home invasion. The phsycological effects of having your HOME raided in that fashion are enough to put these guys away for a long time.

I keep trying to imagine the emotional state such a crime would leave my wife, even if we weren't hurt. I know for sure I'd have to sell my house.

Texas is a property-protect state, right?

Nice, if the break in is realted to the other first one he totally deserves it.

In fact, if anyone forcefully breaks into someone's house like that they deserve to get shot.

    Justice Served. :D

I couldn't imagine what it would be like to have 3 men kick down my door and shoot my dog.

In this case, it doesn't matter. Once they step through the door, you're protecting life, not property.

I don't know that I'd say "deserved" but I agree. I have no sympathy whatsoever for B&E criminals. Armed or no.

B&E is bad no matter how they do it. But kicking in a door? That's gotta be one hell of a traumatic thing to have happen to you if you're the victim.

I agree, I have NO sympathy for such criminals.

It's quite risky for a criminal to do a B&E in Texas. Doesn't seem smart to me.

Steal a person's TV. Risk: getting shot and killed by homeowner.

    conclusion: not worth it.

Wish all people came to the same conclusion.

    Maybe the homeowner blindsided him.
No, really, he might not have seen it coming.
It's not that hard to visualize.
It certainly must have been a gruesome sight.

That shooter must've had a good eye.

Guess those crooks didnt have an eye for detail.

They probably regret breaking into that guys house though, you know hindsight is 20/20.
