Why is that good news? Feel free to fill me in...I know it's something to do with their little league team, but that's all.
Sorry well they were under investigation for supposedly having players that lived outside the area for Harlem little league. After investigation, the team has been cleared to play. This team wasn't expected to even make into the regionals, but they just kept going and are now going to be in the little league world series. Their league has only been around since 1988, so it's quite an acheivement for them.
IT . . . IS . .. . LITTLE .. . LEAGUE . . . . It is not *that* serious Rocket River Investigations ??!@?!?!?!?!?!?
did you guys see that little kid showing up the pitcher after hitting that huge swat? pumping his chest and fists as he circled the bases! dispicable! of course, watching guys do it in the majors every night doesn't help! I don't think the LLWS should be televisied... that way the pressure is off kids if they were to choke, and people won't be playing to the cameras... plus i'm sure many parents are telling their children to "stand out" for the TV cameras!
My son would be benched the next game for doing something like that...guess that is a difference in discipline and lack thereof. DD
I agree that the kid was being silly. I would probably have yanked him out for the rest of the game myself. That being said I think it's great for these kids to get the opportunity. They've been underdogs all the way.
The reason why this was a big deal was because of last year's scandal- A team from The Bronx used a 14 year old pitcher from the Dominican Republic, and knowingly lied about his age- they falsified documents and everything. They were eventually stripped of their third place title. This year, they were looking for something to point their finger at. It turns out the players once lived within the boundaries of Harlem, considered from 110th street to 160th street, and they have been on the same Little League team ever since. All I have to say in the matter is......... GO HARLEM!!!!!!!!
