I don't think we should be dreaming about aquiring kg, but instead going for his teammate wally szerbiak.

I bet the T'wolves would give him up for the 15th pick and like a torres or brown, no question. I would rather have odom because of his versitility but getting an all-star like wally will never get easier.

His 3-pt shot will give rudy a chance to let EG get ino the post and not worry about someone being at the 3-pt line. with francis and cat driving and the opposin defense crashing in on them, they can easily kickit out for a wide open look at 3 points.

Cat and Wink will not throw up 3's because they will know they have a better chance lettin wally take them.

The Wolves need such all-star caliber players as Wally Szczerbiak. They are not going to let him go for extreme redundancy off of the bench in either Torres or Brown and not for the 15th pick in an average draft either.

For one, they could get a lot more for Wally....whether he is a cancer to that team or not.

Wally would cost the #5 pick, at least. No thanks.

We already have shooters. We need a 3 with more versatility. And someone who can get along with his teammates. Wally's T-pup teammates think he's a d!ck.

Seeing how his teammates hate him for not passing the ball, combined with the fact that we don't have enough ball movement, makes me say a resounding NO.

Wally is a good shooter and is fairly adequate in other areas,he works hard on defense but has problems with quicker guys,
I don't think that we will be able to get him for the 15th pick and some role players either.
The T-Wolves have lost a lot of picks because of Joe Smith, and they will surely like to get the 5th pick, and they can get other players for him that are more experienced than those coming out in the draft.
I would pass up on him as well.

I say that it is either bench fodder or we show no interest in him. Either Straight up Mooch (which actually isn't bad), or nothing.

Wally World isn't all that - I think he's just profitting from wide open looks courtesy of KG. Isn't he more of an SG anyway?

If he is just profiting from open looks, I thought most of the posters think that our bench can't even hit open shots, otherwise Cuttino and Steve wouldn't be play 40+ minutes a night and NOT passing. If any loser could hit an open shot, the Rockets would replace their bench. I don't think this is true, I think the Rockets' offensive *scheme* stinks, but in previous threads, folks have been saying we run the ISO so much because all of the Rocks that don't get ISO's suck, so if we got a player that could hit open shots, that would be an improvement. So just because a given player could ONLY hit open shots is not a terrible thing against them, if one argues the "rockets bench/non-stars suck" point.

If we get this pretty boy, then I would seriously consider stop being a fan of the Rockets.

That is how much I loathe him.

The fact that he doesn't seem to get along with his teammates makes him the perfect player to get!

    Manny,
OK, if that's true that he can't get along with his teammates due to his ego, IMHO, it's a valid argument against him. None of this, he can only hit open shots BS. I believe San Antonio would kill for anyone to hit an open shot consistently right now, since Tim Duncan is getting double and triple coverage.

Dunleavy. Can do more and has a higher upside. Plus, he can play more positions - probably anything from PG to PF, though he'll likely be a SF in the NBA.

    Dunleavy,
Otherwise, I will OD on the threads on "Rudy and Carroll pass on Dunleavy" like I have on the"Rudy and Carroll pass on Rashard" threads.

You guys are forgeting that Wally is an Allstar... You do not become allstar by feeding off someone.. unless your name is scottie and have pointy nose. Anyway.... 15th pick & tierre and oscar for Wally??????? That will never happen...

Wally has not proved that he can lead the team... but he is an allstar!!!... Evenif Timberwolves going into rebuilding mode.. they will never trade their star for 1th pick and unknown pointguard.

If ... and onlyif.. they are interested in swaping Wally for 15thpick & Tierre... Rockets must do this deal.

Kelly Tripuca was an all-star. Twice. That doesn't mean he ever won anything. Two years after his second apearance he was buried on the bench in Utah because his flaws became so obvious.

If you can score points, you'll get lots of recognition. People will overlook the fact that, no matter what you do about it, you are physically doomed to the role of 'swinging door' in your team's defensive scheme.

Granted, Wally at least attempts to play 'D', but he's still the second comming of Tripuca: a slow, short 3 who's too stocky to be an ideal defender even if he were more athletic, and exactly what this team doesn't need.
