Hey, all you irascible D&Ders, have a good next couple of weeks. I'll be celebrating Christmas with the kids and watching football as I take off this afternoon and don't return to work until 1/3. We may even squeeze in a day trip to Vegas to look at white tigers or something. Light posting from the hacienda until then, as I need to catch up on my reading...
Likewise Rim! I'm off this afternoon myself and the wife and I are heading up to the Catskills until the 2nd! We only have dial-up at the cottage so posting will be light! Unfortunately the forecast is calling for warm temps with no chance of snow! drats!!! Here's my light reading for the holidays! Merry Christmas D&D Freaks!
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice (with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others or their choice not to practice such traditions at all).* Furthermore, I offer my (non-binding) best wishes for the onset of the generally accepted calendar year of 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make this Nation great. (Which is not to imply that this Nation is any greater than any other). These wishes are offered without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, choice of computer platform or sexual preference of the wishee, even if you're a Liberal. Happy (if happiness is in your belief system) Holidays (if you recognize them) * This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It implies no promises by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for his or herself or others, is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish expires within one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first. (even I'm not immune from spreading email posts! Merry Christmas all...).
Have a wonderful holiday season, Rimster, and that goes for everyone else around here. If I'm out of touch for a few days, it's because I'm visiting a technology challenged abode... my Mom's. A veritable black hole, as far as internet access goes. I'm seriously considering getting a broadband cellphone hookup, but hate the idea of losing my T/W broadband, and can't see paying for two services. Oh, well. I'm sure it's good for me, somehow. And I haven't left yet! D&D. We are Wii.
All you defeatest liberals who don't support the war on Christmas are unpatriotic! We can and we must win this war!
To my Christian friends, have a very Merry Christmas. To my Jewish friends, I hope you are having a very Happy Hannukah. To my Muslim friends, I say Kul 'am wa enta bi-khair! (May every year find you in good health!) To everyone else, have a warm and joyous Holiday Season with your loved ones. PS: John Gibson has rocks in his head.
And it has become pretty general. Last Christmas most people had a hard time finding Christmas cards that indicated in any way that Christmas commemorated Someone's Birth. Easter they will have the same difficulty in finding Easter cards that contain any suggestion that Easter commemorates a certain event. There will be rabbits and eggs and spring flowers, but a hint of the Resurrection will be hard to find. Now, all this begins with the designers of the cards.
