I think Yao was born in the year of the dog, which is 2 years from now. I hope he'll be the best dog-gone center in the league by then. :D

The Zodiac (spelling?) follows a 12-year cycle. Given Yao's age, I think Easy was right.

Yao was born in 1980, which is the year of Monkey. So does 2004.

This is the year of YAO.

Yao IS born in the year of the monkey. Although I don't know why some people (others I can understand, Chinese I cannot) here say it as it is positive. In (superstitious) Chinese beliefs, the year you're born in is bad/evil for you, hence this is supposed to be a bad year for Yao. Usually during old times Chinese counter this by wearing a red belt. I guess Yao will have to do with Rockets red jersey.
