Richard Hamilton has become a distraction for the Pistons, according to a team source. He missed Sunday's game and complaints about his diminished role have led some in the organization to wonder if Hamilton has quit on the Pistons. "He quit on us," one team source said. Another team source said Hamilton is acting out of emotion and should adjust. "If I need to have a long talk with him, I will," team president Joe Dumars said Monday on WDFN. "I'll see how Rip is doing tomorrow when he gets in here. Rip's been good for me." http://www.detnews.com/article/2010...set-Richard-Hamilton-has-become-a-distraction
I can' t blame him if he's quit on the Pistons. You could say Dumars with his wack trades, draft picks and FA signings as well as coaching hires also quit on Rip. I can't believe this is the same guy(Dumars) that assembled the championship team under LB.
Remember how he got himself tossed out against the Rockets? Looked like he ain't feeling the Pistons no more.
I don't know why people would say they don't blame the player for quitting on the team because the team is a mess, or the coach is bad, or whatever excuses. Well you are paid a ton of money to perform. You are cheating the fans who pay to watch you play. It's NEVER okay to quit on the team. I don't care what circumstances the team is in.
It was pretty obvious when we played them he doesn't care. He got ejected in the first quarter over something that didn't even have that much of an impact on the game. Clearly not happy.
2nd that. Remember how Rose made Salmons and Ben Gordon look like they could shoot like Pistol Pete?... and Rose was only a Rookie. Rip would go nuts playing in that system.
We DO have him, except that he's better and younger. His name is Kevin Martin. (Although Kevin can't work off screens the way Rip does so well.)
He would have been an excellent fit in Orlando. I think RIP is one of those guys that can play forever. He never relied on athleticism, stays in good shape and hasn't had any serious injuries. I think a chage of scenery can do wonders for him.
Dumars was overrated. He lucked out by getting Rasheed Wallace, who was the third most talented PF at the time, for free. Ben Wallace also turned out to be a lot better than anyone thought he would.
Would Rip fit with the Knicks? Wouldn't have to play defense, just shoot open J's. Knicks would only have to give up Eddy Curry.
